Housemaid threw away old woman's mattress containing more than 1.3 billion VND in the landfill

The woman called emergency services to retrieve it after "near suffering a heart attack", L'Unione Sarda reported.

A police official told The Times that the woman “felt quite distraught when she called for help, explaining that she had remembered the mattress was full of money only hours after it had been taken away”.

The police officer explained that the mattress would have been destroyed if it had not been discovered in time.

"She was so happy when we found it. It was like she became ten years younger when she heard the news," he added.
