Protecting your online accounts is now easier and more proactive than ever.
This smart feature promises to solve one of the biggest "headaches" of Internet users.
"When Chrome detects that your password has been compromised during a login attempt, Google Password Manager will immediately suggest a way to automatically patch the vulnerability," Google experts said.
On compatible sites, Chrome not only generates a new, stronger password, but also automatically updates that information to the user."
This is a huge step forward, building on the solid foundation of the password manager, which already has the ability to generate strong passwords upon sign-up and alert users to leaked login credentials in data breaches.
Google emphasizes that the goal of the automatic password change feature is to minimize inconvenience and help users protect their accounts seamlessly. Users no longer have to fumble around searching for complicated account settings or give up in frustration.
Google's move comes as the technology industry increasingly shifts to passkeys - an alternative to traditional passwords - which are considered safer and more effective in preventing account hijacking attacks.
As evidence, earlier this month, Microsoft also announced that it would make passkey the default method when users register for new customer accounts.
With this valuable improvement, Google Chrome once again affirms its continuous efforts in bringing a safer and more convenient web surfing experience to global users.
