Google launches new "trick" to accelerate in the AI race

On November 18, Google officially introduced a new generation of artificial intelligence (AI) model called Gemini 3, and immediately integrated it into the Google Search engine and Gemini application.

These moves demonstrate Google's determination to maintain its leading position in the global AI race.

According to Google, Gemini 3 is the “smartest” model the company has ever developed, with the ability to process text, images, audio and video , and deeper reasoning and interaction capabilities than the previous version.

The technology will first be available to Gemini Pro and Ultra users in the US, before expanding globally.

One of the highlights is the new “thinking” feature in Google Search’s AI Mode, which allows the model to provide more in-depth analytical answers, which is expected to become a powerful support tool for work and creativity. According to Google, AI Overviews - an AI-powered information summary tool integrated into search - is now used by more than 2 billion people per month.

Gemini 3 is being launched amid growing concerns about AI models being more sophisticated, leading to concerns about misinformation and the potential for negative impacts on users. Google says it has increased safety measures to reduce “hallucinations” and prevent models from being used for malicious purposes.

Along with Gemini 3, Google also announced “Gemini Agent” – a feature that allows AI to perform multi-step tasks like organizing emails or planning a trip . The company also launched the Antigravity platform – a tool to support programming tasks in natural language.

Gemini’s rapid growth reflects Alphabet’s massive investment in AI. Google’s parent company has increased its capital spending budget by $93 billion through 2025, largely for AI.

However, this boom has also raised concerns about an “investment bubble”, even as Alphabet’s market value continues to rise sharply, now at around $3.4 trillion.

Google said integrating Gemini 3 into search from day one of its release is a big step forward, helping the company significantly shorten the time it takes to bring new technology into core services - an important factor in competing with OpenAI, Anthropic and other major rivals in the AI field./.
