According to Digital Foundry, Rockstar Games will likely lock GTA 6 at 30 FPS on consoles, including the PS5. The reasoning behind this is that the famous game studio will not sacrifice the top-notch graphics quality, especially the Ray Traced Global Illumination (RTGI) technology and complex ray-tracing reflection effects, which play a key role in creating a realistic and immersive game world . Trying to push to 60 FPS could mean cutting back on these graphical elements, something Rockstar seems unwilling to do.

"I think all signs point to it being a 30 FPS game, with maybe a 40 FPS mode," Alex, one of the experts, stressed. He also pointed out that, with the exception of Table Tennis , most of Rockstar's previous blockbusters have launched at 30 FPS or lower.
