Beating the Philippines team beautifully, Vietnamese football representative enters the quarter-finals of the Asian futsal tournament

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese women's futsal team defeated the Philippines 3-0 to officially advance to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship.

In the second match of Group B taking place at 10:00 a.m. on May 9 (Vietnam time), the Vietnamese women's futsal team won a convincing 3-0 victory over the Philippines, thereby becoming the first team to qualify for the quarterfinals of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship.

Previously, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team had a favorable start with a 5-3 victory over Hong Kong (China). With 3 points, the Vietnamese women's futsal team entered the match against the Philippines with high determination to soon complete the goal of winning a ticket to the next round. Meanwhile, the Philippines had to win after the opening match to keep their hopes of passing the group stage alive.

Sharing with the media after the Vietnamese women's futsal team won the right to enter the quarter-finals, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said: "Today the team entered the game better than the previous match. The spirit of the players was also better. Our team controlled the game and from there had many advantageous situations."

Evaluating the match, Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang analyzed: “Each moment of the match will have different situations. In the first half, we played with a higher pressing, not giving the opponent much space to develop. In the second half, we increased our concentration and stability. I am very happy that the team won. It was the effort of all the athletes, you played with more than 100% of your strength.”

After the women's futsal team won a ticket to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship, President Tran Quoc Tuan, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation, congratulated the team on their victory and awarded them 200 million VND.

According to the schedule, the final match of the group stage of the Vietnam women's futsal team will take place at 4:00 p.m. (Vietnam time) on May 11 at the Hohhot Sports Center (China).
