Ha Giang: sports competition, spreading the message of gender equality

On March 1-2, 2025, the Women's Union of Xin Man district, Ha Giang province organized a women's football tournament "For green goals - Kicking away gender prejudice", attracting the participation of 60 female players from 18 communes and towns and nearly 400 spectators to cheer.

The event took place within the framework of the “Moving Forward” program implemented by Plan International Vietnam in collaboration with the Women's Union of Xin Man district, with sponsorship from the Irish Embassy in Vietnam. The tournament took place on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2025), bringing a vibrant sports playground full of solidarity.

With every beautiful play, every goal scored, the female players have contributed to promoting gender equality in sports, affirming their strength and determination. The women's football tournament not only inspires sportsmanship but also symbolizes the commitment towards a green, sustainable future.

After 2 days of competition, the first prize went to Cluster 4 (Then Phang, Ban Diu, Nan Xin communes). The second prize went to Cluster 1 (Na Chi, Khuon Lung, Quang Nguyen communes). The third prize went to Cluster 6 (Xin Man, Chi Ca, Pa Vay Su communes). The fourth prize went to Cluster 5 (Nan Ma, Ban Ngo, Coc Pai communes).

The organizing committee also awarded secondary prizes. Player with the most goals: Hoang Thi Duong (Group 1); Best Goalkeeper: Hoang Thi Niem (Group 1); Best Goal: Lu Thi Vi (Group 4); Stylish Team Award (Group 5).
