On September 9, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of an English training course and teaching methods for teachers of Math, Science , Physics, Chemistry, and Information Technology under the Cambridge dual degree program with the participation of 100 teachers.

Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that this is a key activity of strategic significance in implementing the National Foreign Language Project 2025 of the Ministry of Education and Training; demonstrating the determination of the Hanoi Education sector in improving the quality of teachers, ready to integrate and approach international standards.

According to Mr. Cuong, this year's course is the final year in the training roadmap approved by the Hanoi People's Committee. Over the past four years, about 400 teachers have been trained in foreign language skills and advanced teaching methods, capable of teaching subjects in English according to the Cambridge dual-degree standard - a model that is being effectively implemented in many high schools in Hanoi.

The 2025 course will have the participation of 100 teachers from 126 communes/wards, in nearly 300 high schools. According to the Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, these are 100 "quintessential nuclei".

Teachers will be trained in professional competence (knowledge and skills in subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Literature...); language competence (not only daily communication but also academic language, a tool for thinking and learning); cognitive competence (thinking skills, learning and ability to apply knowledge); culture (qualities, attitudes, and spirit of students in the new era).

At the end of the course, teachers will take an exam to obtain a certificate in the international integrated teaching method from Cambridge University - one of the most prestigious certificates, recognized in more than 200 countries.

Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training, shared at the opening ceremony of the training course.

Mr. Cuong sent a message to the teachers - the students of the course: "Teachers are the core, the 'main engine', the ones who inspire and lead the generation of students on the journey to reach global knowledge. The success of this course is not only measured by the number of study hours or certificates achieved, but more importantly, the change in thinking, teaching methods, language ability and confidence of each teacher after completing the program."

The Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training emphasized that this course is not only an opportunity, but also an important mission and task for teachers. “After the course, teachers will return to their schools with international knowledge, advanced teaching methods and a passion for innovation, to continue spreading new experiences and knowledge to colleagues at their work units; leading and awakening the unlimited potential of students," said Mr. Cuong.

Mr. Cuong also requested that the evaluation of training results must be objective, public, and transparent. “We request that we do not chase after achievements. Because achievements are quality and efficiency. It is not true that in a course of 100 teachers, all will be excellent. We do not dream of that. Learning is a process. If teachers do not achieve this year, we will continue next year until they achieve it,” said Mr. Cuong.
