The Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DOET) may adjust the schedule for the 10th grade entrance exam in the 2025-2026 school year if the high school graduation exam takes place earlier than expected.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has announced that the entrance exam for 10th grade in public high schools for the 2025-2026 school year will be held on June 7th and 8th.
Candidates take three exams: Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language. On June 9th, candidates will take the specialized subject exam to apply for admission to one of the four specialized high schools.

Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Education and Training's plan, the 2025 high school graduation exam will take place at the end of June. However, recently, some localities have proposed moving the exam date forward by 3 weeks. This proposed schedule coincides with or is very close to the entrance exam schedule for grade 10 in these localities, including Hanoi.
Recently, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training sent a document to the Ministry of Education and Training requesting adjustments to the exam schedule. The document stated: "Based on the schedule of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training advises the Hanoi People's Committee to adjust the exam and admission plan for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year to ensure suitability and effectiveness."
Similar to other localities, the schedule for the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi is based on the Ministry of Education and Training's projected high school graduation exam schedule. This aims to calculate a suitable time for organizing the exam locally, while also ensuring thorough and comprehensive preparation in terms of facilities and personnel.
Every year, Hanoi has the largest number of students in the country, and the scale of its examinations and admissions is extensive, involving many complex and rigorous processes, requiring thorough and careful preparation.
