From July 1, public kindergartens and primary schools in Hanoi will officially enroll preschool children, first and sixth graders for the 2025-2026 school year. Schools will continue to enroll students online and in person.

Specifically, online enrollment for grade 1 will take place from July 1 to 3; enrollment for 5-year-old children in kindergarten will take place from July 4 to 6; and enrollment for grade 6 will take place from July 7 to 9.

Parents log in to the Primary School Admissions Portal at: https://tsdaucap.hanoi.gov.vn to register for admission online.

After the online registration period ends, parents can register directly at schools from July 12 to July 18.

According to the plan, this year, Hanoi will enroll about 95,000 new children in nursery schools and 52,000 children in kindergartens. Primary schools will enroll about 155,000 first graders. Secondary schools will enroll about 161,000 sixth graders.

In the 2026-2027 school year, Hanoi plans to enroll students at the primary level based on the criteria of 'studying near home' . The leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the Department is calculating the implementation of a geographic information system through digital maps in enrollment and is expected to apply it from the 2026-2027 school year. At that time, students will be able to study at schools near their homes instead of being divided into zoning as at present.
