On July 14, the Hanoi People's Committee issued a decision to establish an interdisciplinary working group to advise the City People's Committee on implementing the contents and tasks of converting green means of transport and electric vehicle charging station infrastructure in the area.
According to the decision, an interdisciplinary working group was established, including Mr. Dao Viet Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, as team leader.
The two deputy heads are Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade; Mr. Nguyen Anh Quan, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
The remaining 6 members include: Major General Nguyen Hong Ky, Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Sang, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance; Ms. Nguyen To Quyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Architecture; Mr. Nguyen Tay Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, General Director of Hanoi Electricity Corporation.
In addition, there are leaders of the People's Committees of wards and communes and the working group with 19 members representing departments and branches in the city.
According to the decision, the working group is responsible for advising the City People's Committee on organizing the implementation of tasks on converting green means of transport and developing electric vehicle charging station infrastructure.
At the same time, the working group reviews and proposes new tasks arising from reality; the support group works part-time. The working group will dissolve itself after completing its tasks.
The Department of Construction is the standing agency mobilizing personnel, equipment, and funds from the city budget. This unit is assigned to chair meetings, synthesize opinions, and use the department's seal to perform its duties.
On July 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued a directive on a number of urgent and drastic tasks to prevent and resolve environmental pollution. According to the directive, the Prime Minister requested Hanoi to implement solutions for organizations and individuals to convert their vehicles, ensuring that by July 1, 2026, there will be no more motorbikes and scooters using fossil fuels circulating in the Ring Road 1 area. From January 1, 2028, in addition to banning gasoline-powered motorbikes and scooters, private cars using fossil fuels will also be restricted in the Ring Road 1 and Ring Road 2 areas. By 2030, apply to all personal vehicles using fossil fuels within Ring Road 3. |
