Hanoi opens spaces to promote the commercialization of technology.

The HITCHub innovation space at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park promotes research, incubation, testing, and commercialization of technology in Hanoi.

On the morning of May 15, 2026, the HITCHub Innovation Space was launched. Mr. Le Thanh Son, Deputy Head of the Management Board of High-Tech Parks and Industrial Zones of Hanoi City, said this is a step towards creating a foundation for the formation of a "technology and innovation valley" in Vietnam.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Son, Hoa Lac High-Tech Park aims to develop into a leading high-tech, innovation, and startup center in the country, with a development orientation towards 2030 and a vision towards 2045. At the same time, Hanoi has also determined that to achieve breakthroughs, it must rely on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

"For innovation and development to be truly effective, we need to form a sufficiently strong, open, and interconnected ecosystem between the government, schools, businesses, and investors. HITC Hub was built to achieve that goal," Mr. Son said.

Accordingly, HITC Hub is built on an integrated model of "space - infrastructure - knowledge - services - connectivity," serving as a hub for research, incubation, testing, demonstration, and commercialization of technology. In particular, open workspaces, labs, community networking areas, and a business support platform are expected to facilitate startups, high-tech companies, and research groups in shortening the cycle from idea to product and market.

According to Mr. Son, the core of HITC Hub is not just infrastructure or workspace, but the ability to connect with a network of partners throughout the entire innovation ecosystem.

"We aim to form a genuine network of connections between research institutes, universities, technology companies, investment funds, startup support organizations, and domestic and international experts," Mr. Son said.

Representatives from Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology, research institutes, universities, and investors performed the ceremony to launch the HITC Hub Innovation Space.

At the event, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duc Loi, Director of the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST), one of the major institutes located in the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, assessed this model as suitable for the development trends of modern innovation ecosystems worldwide . According to him, this model helps shorten the gap between research, businesses, and the market, and accelerates the application of technology in practice.

Associate Professor Vu Duc Loi affirmed that VKIST will cooperate with the high-tech park to develop a network of experts, technology advisors, management advisors, and strong research groups to support startups, innovative businesses, and spin-off projects to develop sustainably and with technological depth at HITC Hub.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology, stated that the city has allocated 4% of its recurrent budget to science, technology, and innovation. "This demonstrates our determination not only through policies and mechanisms, but also through resources, to support the innovation ecosystem," Dr. Tuan said, adding that the passing of the Capital City Law has created the most favorable legal framework for this activity.
