Hanoi - Vientiane strengthen cooperation on women's work in line with the new situation

On the morning of May 12, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong received a delegation of the Women's Union of Vientiane Capital (Lao PDR) led by Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao Women's Union, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vientiane Capital Party Committee, President of the Women's Union of Vientiane Capital Lienkham Vilaphanh, who is visiting and working in Hanoi.

Speaking at the reception, President of the Vientiane Capital Women's Union Lienkham Vilaphanh said that this visit aims to implement the cooperation minutes between the two capitals' Women's Unions signed in 2022, as well as the agreements signed between Hanoi and Vientiane, with the goal of jointly assessing the positive aspects, difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process to point out directions and methods for mutual support in the coming time.

Sharing an overview of this working program, Comrade Lienkham Vilaphanh highly appreciated the coordination and support of the Hanoi Women's Union, and at the same time, expressed her impression of the city's increasingly strong development speed.

Briefing the leaders of the Hanoi Party Committee on the activities of the Vientiane Capital Women's Union, Comrade Lienkham Vilaphanh said that Vientiane Capital is urgently preparing in all aspects for the 8th Congress of the Vientiane Capital Party Committee and many other important commemorative events. He also said that the Vientiane Capital Women's Union has just successfully held its 9th Congress, electing 39 comrades to the Executive Committee.

Comrade Lienkham Vilaphanh affirmed that in recent times, the cooperation between the Women's Unions of the two capitals has been increasingly deepened, in which the training of female cadres for Vientiane Capital has been effectively and practically supported by Hanoi; the Women's Union of Hanoi has provided valuable support for the work of the Women's Union of Vientiane Capital. Comrade Lienkham Vilaphanh believes that under the close guidance of the Party Committees of the two capitals, the cooperation between the two Women's Unions will be increasingly close, with many new steps forward.

Thanking comrade Lienkham Vilaphanh for sharing, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong said that the delegation's working trip took place on the occasion of Vietnam's solemn celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee emphasized that Vietnam's achievements cannot be attributed to the support and contributions of the Lao people.

Reviewing memorable milestones in the close Vietnam-Laos relationship, comrade Nguyen Van Phong affirmed that in the context of a changing world , the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos has proven to be a priceless asset that the two Parties, two States, and peoples must maintain and continue to develop more sustainably and effectively.

In that spirit, Comrade Nguyen Van Phong stated that Hanoi, as the capital, will make increasingly substantial and effective contributions to the friendly relationship with Vientiane, thereby continuously promoting and consolidating the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos. Comrade Nguyen Van Phong affirmed that the Hanoi Party Committee always directs agencies, units, and socio -political organizations to identify the relationship with Vientiane as a special relationship, prioritizing development in the new situation.

Sharing an overview of the socio-economic development situation of Hanoi Capital, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong stated that the current world context requires each country and locality to have flexible solutions to adapt to the new situation.

According to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Vietnam and Hanoi are streamlining the apparatus, developing science and technology, promoting digital transformation, developing the private economy, etc. In the near future, the model of many organizations, including the Women's Union, will be rearranged, aiming to build a streamlined apparatus, operating effectively, efficiently, close to the people, serving the people and businesses better.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee affirmed that these are major policies with a large amount of work, affecting many groups of people, however, they have been implemented very effectively, receiving the consensus of party members, cadres and people.

Regarding the content of this working trip of the Vientiane Capital Women's Union delegation, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong expressed his agreement and at the same time, suggested a number of cooperation issues between the Women's Unions of the two capitals.

Firstly, it is necessary to identify an urgent key task of sharing and supporting each other in digital transformation - an inevitable trend. Secondly , it is necessary to coordinate support and help women in starting businesses and innovation. Thirdly , it is necessary to share experiences in adapting to the process of reorganizing the organizational model of the Front, as well as socio-political organizations, including women's associations; in order to have appropriate methods of operation.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee hopes that the Women's Unions of the two capitals will continue to play a core and leading role in promoting the close relationship between Hanoi and Vientiane, so that this relationship becomes a model for local relations between Vietnam and Laos.

According to comrade Nguyen Van Phong, to do this, cooperation activities must aim for effectiveness, substance, and meet the aspirations and needs of women in the two capitals.

Accepting the opinion of the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, Comrade Lienkham Vilaphanh affirmed that this will be a solid foundation for the two women's unions to promote cooperation in the coming time. He stated that with the special traditional relationship, the Vientiane Capital Women's Union will continue to make every effort with the Hanoi Capital Women's Union to preserve and promote the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two brotherly nations of Vietnam and Laos as well as between the two capitals of Hanoi and Vientiane.
