The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee has instructed the Department of Transport to coordinate with relevant units to inspect and urge construction units to restore sidewalks and roadways, ensuring smooth traffic flow and environmental hygiene during the Tet holiday.
Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh has just signed and issued a directive on organizing the celebration of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025.
The directive requires ensuring leadership and guidance in organizing services for the people to celebrate the New Year and Spring Festival in a joyful, healthy, safe, and economical manner, with the motto "everyone, every family should have a Tet holiday".

The Chairman of Hanoi assigned the Department of Transport to take the lead and coordinate with the City Police, relevant departments and agencies, and the People's Committees of districts, towns, and communes to organize a peak period to ensure traffic order and safety during the New Year and Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake).
In addition, the Department of Transport, in coordination with relevant units, will inspect and urge construction units to restore sidewalks and roadways, ensuring smooth traffic flow and environmental hygiene during the Tet holiday.
The Chairman of Hanoi also requested the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to take the lead and coordinate with relevant units to implement the plan to carefully care for the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, policy beneficiary families, families affected by storms and floods, people with difficult circumstances, and ethnic minorities.
Hanoi City Police are tasked with preventing illegal street racing and promptly and strictly handling violations of traffic safety laws, especially those related to the use of alcohol, beer, and prohibited substances while driving.
The directive also requires the city police to eliminate hotspots of complex security and order issues; prevent serious crimes from occurring, dismantle smuggling rings, counterfeit goods production and trading networks, drug trafficking, gambling, illegal lottery, prostitution, and superstition rings, and strictly handle violations in accordance with the law.
