Hanoi requests to return sidewalks and roads during Tet

The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Transport to coordinate with relevant units to inspect and urge construction units to restore sidewalks and roads, ensuring convenient traffic and environmental sanitation during Tet.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh has just signed and issued a directive on organizing the Lunar New Year celebration in 2025.

The Directive requires ensuring leadership and direction in organizing services for people to welcome the New Year and Spring happily, healthily, safely and economically with the motto "everyone, every family has Tet".

The Chairman of Hanoi assigned the Department of Transport to preside over and coordinate with the City Police, relevant departments and branches, and People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities to organize a peak period to ensure traffic order and safety during the New Year and Lunar New Year.

In addition, the Department of Transport coordinates with relevant units to inspect and urge construction units to restore sidewalks and roads, ensuring convenient traffic and environmental sanitation during Tet.

The Chairman of Hanoi also requested the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to implement a plan to take good care of the people's material and spiritual lives, especially those with revolutionary contributions, policy families, families affected by storms and floods, people in difficult circumstances, and ethnic minorities.

Hanoi City Police are assigned to prevent racing, promptly and strictly handle violations of laws on traffic order and safety, especially those related to the use of alcohol, beer, and banned substances while driving.

The directive also requires the City Police to organize the elimination of complicated security and order hotspots; prevent serious crimes from occurring; destroy smuggling, trading, counterfeit goods production, drug trafficking, gambling, lottery, prostitution, superstition, and strictly handle violations according to the law.
