In the context of increasingly fierce competition to attract investment, infrastructure is no longer simply a condition for development but has become a strategic lever that determines the competitiveness of a locality.

Synchronized, modern infrastructure with high regional connectivity is a major advantage of industrial parks in the province.
Looking back at previous years, the biggest bottleneck for many localities in the province was transportation connectivity and the availability of clean land for industrial and service development. Many businesses have assessed Phu Tho as having a favorable location and abundant labor force, but the infrastructure system was not yet truly synchronized.
That situation is gradually changing as the province is currently focusing its resources on implementing a series of important transportation projects. Inter-regional connecting routes, roads linking the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway with industrial zones, urban development axes in the southern part of the province, and logistics infrastructure are gradually forming a new network of connections.
For example, the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project (section Km19+000 - Km53+000), with a total length of 34km and a total investment of VND 9,997 billion in phase 1, is currently under construction with 4 construction packages. The value of work completed to date is approximately 20% of the contract value. Compensation, support, and resettlement work has been largely completed; the land has been handed over for construction.
Contractors are mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment, organizing continuous construction according to the "3 shifts, 4 teams" principle to accelerate progress and strive to complete the project before December 31, 2027, shortening the schedule by one year. This is a key project, playing an important role in connecting the Northwest region with Hanoi and the provinces of the Northern Delta.
Not only transportation, but many industrial zones are also entering a phase of rapid expansion. Land that was once hilly or consisted of small-scale production areas is now being leveled to prepare clean sites for new investors.
According to Comrade Hoang Long Bien, Head of the Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board, the province's current goal is not just to increase the number of projects, but to attract high-quality, high-tech, and environmentally friendly capital. To achieve this, infrastructure must be developed ahead of time.
That is also why, recently, many localities in the province have been focusing on resolving difficulties related to land clearance, resettlement, and completing technical infrastructure. The mindset of "building infrastructure to pave the way for development" is becoming increasingly clear.

The project to expand the central arterial road in the Me Linh urban area is being expedited by the construction units.
It is noteworthy that the current infrastructure story in Phu Tho is no longer limited to transportation alone, but is shifting towards a holistic development mindset.
In many localities, along with transportation infrastructure, electricity, water supply, and telecommunications systems, digital infrastructure has also been invested in synchronously. This is a particularly important factor in the context of the province's efforts to accelerate digital transformation and attract technology businesses.
Comrade Nguyen Van Do, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Lang commune, said that recently, the Binh Xuyen - Yen Lac I Industrial Park, with a scale of 235.24 hectares, located in Xuan Lang and Nguyet Duc communes, has had its zoning plan approved at a scale of 1/2000, of which Xuan Lang commune has more than 201 hectares and Nguyet Duc commune has about 33.5 hectares.
The industrial park is planned with favorable boundaries: bordered to the north by the Binh Xuyen Industrial Park South Road, and to the east by the Ca Lo River and inter-communal transportation routes, creating a clear advantage in terms of infrastructure connectivity.
According to the planning orientation, this will be a multi-sector supporting industrial zone, with synchronous investment in technical and social infrastructure systems, meeting the requirements of modern production and business associated with criteria for environmental protection, security and fire prevention and control.
Priority sectors for investment attraction include automobile manufacturing and assembly; electronics; mechanical engineering; leather and footwear; supporting industries for high technology; and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups. These are all high value-added sectors, consistent with the development orientation of supporting industries that Phu Tho province is focusing on promoting.
The reality in Xuan Lang commune, which traditionally boasts many craft villages and is now developing into a new industrial cluster, reveals many positive changes. Wider roads have led to the development of services, and housing, shops, transportation, and trade are all more vibrant than before.
Mr. Nguyen Khanh, a resident living near the newly planned project area, shared: “A few years ago, this area was very quiet, but now there is more traffic, and many people come to inquire about investment and business. The people also hope for more jobs and opportunities for development.”
This shows that infrastructure not only facilitates investment attraction but also creates momentum for changing the socio-economic landscape of each locality.
Based on current development trends, it's clear that areas with well-developed infrastructure attract significantly more investment. Many businesses now choose investment locations based on transportation connectivity, logistics access, digital infrastructure, and the quality of accompanying services.
That is also why localities are competing fiercely in improving the investment environment, speeding up the processing of procedures, preparing clean land, and completing infrastructure.
Although the province is entering a period of strong infrastructure development, it has also clearly defined the requirement that development must go hand in hand with sustainability.
Many current projects are required to prioritize environmental factors, minimizing impacts on local communities and ecosystems. Resettlement and support for affected residents are also being addressed more rigorously.
Sharing his views on this issue with reporters, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Hieu emphasized that the pressure for development is immense, but the environment and the quality of life of the people cannot be sacrificed for short-term growth. Therefore, all projects must be carefully reviewed in terms of planning, environmental impact assessment, and long-term effectiveness.
In today's competitive environment, modern infrastructure is not just about wide roads or large industrial parks, but also about green, smart, and sustainable infrastructure. This is also the foundation for Phu Tho to aim to become a center for industrial, service, and logistics development in the northern midland and mountainous region in the coming period.
It is evident that behind today's bustling construction sites lies a desire for development being concretized through action. As infrastructure expands, so does the space for development. And along these newly formed routes, Phu Tho is gradually building a new growth pole for the future.
