Ha Tinh has a new outbreak of dengue fever, 4 people infected

(Baohatinh.vn) - In Phuong Giai village, Ky Xuan commune (Ha Tinh), 4 cases of Dengue fever have just appeared.

The first patient was NTTH (born in 1991, residing in Phuong Giai village, Ky Xuan commune). Previously, on October 9, the patient had symptoms of fatigue, headache, muscle and joint pain, and bought medicine to take at home. On October 10, the patient went to Ky Anh Medical Center with the above symptoms, accompanied by a fever of 39 degrees and was tested for dengue fever with a positive NS1Ag result.

Immediately after receiving information about the dengue fever case, on October 13, leaders of the Ha Tinh Center for Disease Control (CDC) and specialized units were directly present in the area, coordinating with Ky Anh Medical Center to urgently deploy epidemic prevention and control measures to prevent the disease from spreading widely.

CDC Ha Tinh coordinated to spray insecticide to kill adult mosquitoes in 90 households within a 200m radius of the patients' homes. At the same time, they investigated suspected cases of dengue fever.

To date, authorities have discovered three new cases of dengue fever in Phuong Giai village, Ky Xuan commune, bringing the total number of cases to four.

The delegation came to supervise epidemic prevention at patient H's home.

After conducting a field inspection at Phuong Giai village, Ky Xuan commune, Director of CDC Ha Tinh Nguyen Chi Thanh requested Ky Anh Medical Center, health stations and local authorities to step up propaganda on disease prevention and control measures on the loudspeaker system; strengthen monitoring, requesting suspected cases to immediately go to medical facilities for timely monitoring and treatment; closely monitor households around the patient's house; organize campaigns, mobilize people to clean the environment, kill mosquito larvae to prevent dengue fever...

Dr. Nguyen Chi Thanh - Director of CDC Ha Tinh said that the health sector and local authorities are focusing all their efforts on isolating the epidemic, preventing it from spreading, and at the same time doing a good job of admitting, examining and treating patients.

The Director of CDC Ha Tinh also recommended that people proactively kill mosquitoes and larvae in their households, monitor their health and go to medical facilities when they have suspicious symptoms.

Thus, since the beginning of the year, the province has recorded 55 cases of dengue fever, including 3 outbreaks: Hai Thanh village outbreak, Song Tri ward with 7 cases; Toan Thang village outbreak, Dong Tien commune with 4 cases; Phuong Giai village outbreak, Ky Xuan commune with 4 cases. The remaining cases are isolated and scattered throughout the area.
