At the admission conference organized by the Ministry of Education and Training on the morning of March 15 in Ho Chi Minh City, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training said that the Ministry currently plans to have two options for the high school graduation exam date in 2024.
In which, option 1, the high school graduation exam will be held on June 21 and 22. Option 2 is 1 week later, on June 26 and 27.
Of the two options above, option 1 is currently receiving the most support. In case option 2 is chosen, the next timelines will be moved back accordingly.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that the 2024 High School Graduation Exam will basically remain stable as in the 2020-2023 period, especially the same as the 2023 High School Graduation Exam. The Ministry will only make some technical adjustments to the regulations to ensure consistency in the organization of the exam nationwide.
According to the regulations, the exam will continue to have 5 exams.
Specifically, it includes: 3 independent exams: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 1 combined exam of Natural Sciences including the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology; 1 combined exam of Social Sciences including: History, Geography, Civic Education (for candidates studying high school program) or History, Geography (for candidates studying regular education program).
Candidates studying the high school program will be required to take 4/5 exams to graduate from high school, including 3 independent exams and choose one of 2 combined exams.
This is the final exam for students studying under the 2006 General Education Program. From 2025, students will take the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 General Education Program.
It is expected that from July 10 to 5:00 p.m. on July 25, 2024, candidates will be able to register, adjust, and add admission wishes an unlimited number of times. Candidates will use the assigned account to process their information on the system.
Registration of admission wishes for majors/programs must be done online on the system or on the National Public Service Portal.
The Ministry of Education and Training notes that candidates' wishes for admission to all training institutions are registered by major/program and are ranked from 1 to the end (wish 1 is the highest wish). At the same time, candidates must provide data corresponding to the major/program that they have registered for admission so that training institutions can use it for admission.
