On the evening of May 25th, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department announced that during the peak period of combating smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement, Team 3 of the Market Management Department, in coordination with other functional forces, inspected numerous businesses in the area, discovering and seizing a large quantity of counterfeit goods bearing the trademarks of famous brands.
Specifically, Market Management Team No. 3, in coordination with Team 6 of the Economic Police Department, conducted inspections of business establishments in Cho Lon Ward and Long Truong Ward (Ho Chi Minh City).
In Cho Lon ward, authorities discovered a business selling a large quantity of goods suspected of being counterfeit versions of many famous foreign brands protected in Vietnam, such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Dior, Hermes, Rolex, etc. The items included clothing, shoes, bags, and watches.
At the time of inspection, the household owner failed to present invoices or documents proving the legal origin of the goods. The inspection team temporarily seized nearly 2,000 products with a total value of over 1 billion VND . The case file has been transferred to the investigating agency for further verification and processing according to regulations.
According to initial statements, the owner of the establishment imported counterfeit goods through social media contacts and sold them directly at the store, while also livestreaming and selling online via Facebook, Zalo, and TikTok to gain illicit profits.
Results from the extraction of electronic data, bank account statements, and accounting documents show that from the beginning of 2024 to the present, the suspects have profited more than 4.5 billion VND from the counterfeit goods business.

Despite knowing that their actions violated the law and harmed the rights and health of consumers, the business owner deliberately continued them for the sake of high profits. To evade authorities, the store frequently closed, limiting direct transactions. Delivery was primarily handled through couriers to conceal their business activities.
Meanwhile, in Long Truong ward, authorities continued to discover a warehouse containing an exceptionally large quantity of thousands of counterfeit shoes, sandals, and socks bearing the Nike, Adidas, and Converse brands.
All the goods are unused, have original labels in a foreign language but no supplementary labels in Vietnamese, and no invoices or documents proving their origin. The trademarks and brand logos are printed directly on the products and cannot be peeled off or removed.
The total value of the infringing goods was determined to be over 2.8 billion VND . At the time of inspection, representatives of the trademark owners of Adidas, Nike, and Converse directly inspected, photographed, and confirmed that all the goods were counterfeit.
According to authorities, the business owner used sophisticated methods to conceal the violations. Goods were purchased from various online sources, then advertised and sold through social media accounts and e-commerce platforms to reach customers.
Buyers placed orders online and received goods via shippers, without directly transacting with the seller. The suspect confessed to operating this business for nearly three years, from June 2023 to April 30, 2026, earning over 3.5 billion VND in illicit profits.
Authorities have now sealed and temporarily seized all the goods to continue the investigation and handle the case according to the law.
The Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department stated that in the coming period, the Market Management Teams will continue to strengthen inspections in key areas, proactively coordinate with functional forces to implement comprehensive operational measures to promptly detect and prevent the production and trading of counterfeit and prohibited goods, and protect consumer rights.
