Director of Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative (Thieu Hoa) Nguyen Van Duong said: The cooperative has 30 hectares of vegetables and fruits: kohlrabi, cabbage, leafy vegetables, tomatoes, green beans... To ensure the quality of safe vegetables, the cooperative has required members to strictly follow the principles in the planting process. Therefore, the products are favored by the market and consumed in large quantities. On the occasion of Tet this year, due to the recent cold weather, severe cold accompanied by rain, affecting the growth, development and harvesting of vegetables, the cost of vegetables, tubers and fruits increased by 10-20% compared to normal days. Thanks to that, in the days before Tet, local people are promoting harvesting and consumption, expecting to increase revenue and profit by 5-10% compared to the same period.

Poultry farms boost production to supply eggs to the market.

At this time, agricultural and food production enterprises in the province are also operating at full capacity. Ms. Tong Thi Hien, Director of Hien Nhuan Production and Trading Company Limited (Dong Son), said: In the days leading up to Tet, market demand increases, so the company's consumption of vegetables, eggs, and poultry is expected to increase by 10% to 20% compared to normal days. Therefore, in addition to supplying 1-1.5 tons of vegetables and fruits per day, the company also cooperates with satellite farms to purchase and supply about 20,000 eggs, about 3 tons of pork and chicken to supermarkets, restaurants, and industrial kitchens in Thanh Hoa City.

At traditional markets, the consumption of agricultural products increased compared to normal days.

A survey of traditional markets, supermarkets, and safe food stores in the province showed that the consumption of agricultural products has increased compared to normal days. However, there is no shortage of goods. In particular, green vegetables are the item with the strongest increase from 10% to 20% compared to normal days. Specifically, such as: cabbage, kohlrabi, cauliflower are priced from 12,000 VND/kg to 18,000 VND/kg, an increase of 20% compared to normal days; leafy vegetables of all kinds are 28,000 VND/kg, an increase of 12% compared to normal days.

These days, the demand for pork is also increasing.

Other foods, such as: chicken prices started to increase by about 8%, due to increased demand during the Kitchen Gods' Day (December 23); live pig and pork prices increased by about 5% due to increased demand for pork to make spring rolls, sausages, and cakes during Tet.

Fruit farms are stepping up harvests to supply the market.

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, thanks to the preparation of essential goods supply from the last months of 2023, enterprises, cooperatives, and production units in the province will fully meet the consumption and shopping needs of the people, there will be no shortage or shortage of goods, and the prices of essential goods will continue to be stable.
