At the 16th Council meeting of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology a few days ago, the school announced the promotion of opening a branch in Khanh Hoa province to expand access opportunities for students in the Central region, while contributing to providing local human resources to serve the specific economic development of the locality.

It is expected that the Khanh Hoa branch will train the school's strengths such as Information Technology, AI, Microchip and Semiconductor Design, Ocean Technology, and Logistics to serve the operation of the North-South high-speed railway.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education has just opened a branch in Binh Phuoc . This branch uses all the facilities and equipment of Binh Phuoc College.

This year, the branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education in Binh Phuoc will recruit the following majors: Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, Control and Automation Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology; Construction Management, Automotive Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Industrial Management, Accounting, E-commerce, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, International Business, English Language. According to the roadmap, the branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education in Binh Phuoc has a total investment of about 341 billion VND in the 2024-2036 period, with a training scale of about 5,900 students by 2036, including 2,800 full-time students.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Education also opened a branch in Gia Lai on the basis of Gia Lai Pedagogical College. In 2025, the school plans to enroll more than 300 students for the majors of Preschool Education, Primary Education and Natural Science Pedagogy. The Preschool Education major has both college and university systems to meet the local human resource needs. This branch will also accept training orders for preschool and general education teachers, and training in foreign languages, ethnic languages ​​and ethnic minority languages ​​for civil servants of the province.

A year earlier, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education also established a branch in Long An on the basis of Long An College of Education. The Ho Chi Minh City University of Education branch in Long An received all the existing facilities, lecturers and students of Long An College of Education. The branch has the functions of recruiting, training undergraduates, postgraduates and other levels, short-term training, scientific research and technology transfer under the functions of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

Not long ago, Can Tho University established a branch in Soc Trang on the basis of receiving facilities from Soc Trang Community College.

According to the plan, the Soc Trang Provincial Branch of Can Tho University will train masters in the following majors: Information Technology, Agricultural Systems - specializing in climate change and sustainable tropical agriculture, Crop Science - specializing in smart agricultural engineering. In 2025, the Branch will train full-time university students in 3 majors: Accounting, Law, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Law is implementing procedures to establish a branch of the school on a 2.17-hectare land plot in the North Hon Ong area, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province.

Many universities in Ho Chi Minh City have 1 to 2 branches located in the provinces. Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry has 2 branches located in Gia Lai and Ninh Thuan. Ton Duc Thang University has branches in Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong. Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has a branch in Vinh Long. Ho Chi Minh City National University has a branch in Ben Tre. Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry has 2 branches in Quang Ngai and Thanh Hoa. In general, the annual university admission standards at the branches are always lower than the main campus.

In the Northern region, two major universities will open a second branch in Nam Cao University Area (Ha Nam), namely the National Economics University and the Banking Academy . Nam Cao University Area is located in Duy Tien town and Phu Ly city, about 50km from Hanoi. With an area of ​​over 750 hectares, this area can accommodate 50,000 students, 4,000 lecturers and about 30,000 urban residents.

Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province, said that the province will reserve 21 hectares of land at Nam Cao University Area and allocate 500 billion VND from the local budget to support the Banking Academy in building its second campus. For the National Economics University, the province will reserve 40 hectares of land and allocate 800 billion VND from the local budget to support the school in building its second branch in Ha Nam province. In addition, Ha Nam province will also accompany and support both schools in site clearance, planning and construction design.

Meanwhile, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to build a second campus in Van Giang district, Hung Yen.

Hanoi Medical University will also build a new facility in Bac Ninh. The construction project covers an area of ​​about 30 hectares, located in the Bac Ninh Science and Technology Application Training and Research Area (sub-area 12, Lim Urban Area expansion, Tien Du District). The investment scale includes the construction of a training area (3,000 students), a hospital (1,000 beds) and high-tech medical application research institutes with a total estimated investment of 3,150 billion VND.

Previously, a series of schools also planned/are building a second campus in Bac Ninh such as: Hanoi Law University with an area of ​​nearly 28 hectares in Tu Son city, total investment of more than 1,700 billion VND; Hanoi University of Pharmacy with an area of ​​20 hectares, total investment of more than 1,350 billion VND, meeting the needs of about 5,000 students; Foreign Trade University will be built in Dong Nguyen ward, Tu Son city...
