On the evening of June 24, many Facebook users in Vietnam were surprised to discover that a series of familiar groups, with hundreds of thousands to millions of members, suddenly disappeared and were suspended for unknown reasons.
This incident not only caused confusion and regret for users, but also caused significant damage to administrators who spent a long time building and developing communities on these groups.
Responding to a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper about the technical problem affecting Facebook groups that occurred yesterday, a spokesperson for Meta (Facebook's parent company) said that they had noted a technical problem affecting some Facebook groups. "We are working to fix this error."
A group with 2.3 million followers has reappeared.
According to the morning of June 25, most of the groups that were suspended or removed on the afternoon of June 24 have returned to operation. However, many groups are still in the status of “Group title pending” and have not been fully restored.
According to technology experts, this problem may come from Facebook updating its platform.
The group is back but doesn't have the same name.
Group of more than 1.5 million members is active again
