Thousands of people and Buddhists carry the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni at Tam Chuc Pagoda

(PLVN) - On the morning of May 17, the solemn procession and enshrinement ceremony of the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni - the National Treasure of India took place at Tam Chuc Pagoda, Kim Bang Town, Ha Nam Province. Thousands of monks, nuns, and Buddhists were present very early at Tam Chuc Pagoda to welcome the procession of Buddha Shakyamuni's relics.

Attending the procession and enshrinement ceremony of the Buddha's relics were Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education; Mr. Truong Quoc Huy - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ha Nam province.

Thousands of people and Buddhists came to Tam Chuc Pagoda to pay homage to Buddha's relics.

At around 6am on May 17, the Buddha's relics were carried from Quan Su Pagoda ( Hanoi ) to Tam Chuc Pagoda. The procession moved along National Highway 1A, arriving at the Liem Tuyen intersection, Phu Ly City, Ha Nam.

Then, the Buddha's relics were carried around Tam Chuc Lake, into the inner Tam Quan area.

Along with the activities of praying for peace and worshiping Buddha's relics, Tam Chuc Pagoda also organized a ceremony to celebrate the Vesak 2025 at the Vesak International Convention Center (May 18), planted the Compassion Tree to nurture wisdom at the Compassion Nursery of Tam Chuc Pagoda (May 19), and a night of flower lanterns to pray for national peace and prosperity and to pay tribute at Tam Quan Noi (night of May 19).

To prepare for the 2025 Vesak Festival and the procession and enshrinement of Buddha's relics, Tam Chuc Pagoda and the Organizing Committee have prepared hundreds of thousands of meals and drinks to best serve visitors and Buddhists coming to the pagoda to worship...

Ceremony to honor the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni.

According to the Organizing Committee, it is expected that in 4 days (May 17-21), about 4,000 people will participate in service work at Tam Chuc Tourist Area, including over 2,000 volunteers who are students from colleges, universities and Buddhists.

Mr. Truong Quoc Huy - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province, requested that the organization of the 2025 Vesak Festival and the procession and enshrinement of the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni be carried out solemnly, seriously and safely.
