The exhibition was large-scale, and the crowds were like a festival.

From the morning of August 28th, the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh commune opened its doors to visitors to the exhibition showcasing the achievements of the country and Hanoi , themed "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness." This is a momentous event, not only recreating the 80-year historical journey of national development but also affirming the aspirations of the Vietnamese people for progress in the new era.

The exhibition was considered the largest ever, spanning hundreds of thousands of square meters and featuring over 230 booths from ministries, departments, localities, and businesses. Outstanding achievements in industry, agriculture , science and technology, education, healthcare, culture, and national defense and security were presented in various vivid and engaging visual formats. Spaces such as "Vietnam - A Journey to a New Era," "Aspiration for the Sky - For a Green Future," and "95 Years of the Party Flag Guiding the Way" attracted a large number of visitors.

The exhibition's appeal is evident in the organizers' statistics: after 10 days, approximately 6.5 million visitors had come. During peak days, the number of visitors exceeded 1 million per day, creating scenes of dense crowds from morning to night. The organizers had to deploy thousands of volunteers, open additional free bus and tram routes within the exhibition area, set up numerous information booths, and distribute visitor guides. The Prime Minister also decided to extend the exhibition until September 15th to give people nationwide more opportunities to visit.

However, along with the joy, the overwhelming attraction also caused the area around the exhibition to become overloaded at times. The roads leading to the center, especially Truong Sa Street, experienced traffic jams stretching for kilometers. Cars jostled, horns blared, many families had to get out and push their vehicles, children were exhausted, and the elderly were impatient and worried. Amidst this "traffic jam," a beautiful act emerged, spreading a spirit of community.

The people of Xuan Trach - "volunteers" of the people's hearts.

Xuan Trach village is located right next to the exhibition area. During peak days, villagers witnessed long lines of traffic jams lasting for hours. Without being asked, they voluntarily stepped forward to direct traffic, guide visitors along smaller paths, and even use their personal motorbikes to transport visitors through the congestion.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Tu, a villager, stopped his motorbike, catching his breath, and chuckled: "Seeing people from all over stuck in traffic, I felt so anxious! I know the roads here, and since I have a motorbike, I'll give a few rides, just to contribute a little to the overall atmosphere."

According to Mr. Bui Van Cong from Xuan Trach village, during the exhibition days, many people from various places came to the exhibition, and many vehicles entered the village, but the villagers didn't know the way to the exhibition. Seeing this, some young people in Xuan Trach village formed a team to provide free transportation to the national exhibition via the road from Xuan Trach village. The team quickly gained the support of the local people. Every day, nearly 40 motorbikes take turns transporting people to and from the national exhibition...

Continuing the story from Mr. Cong, Mrs. Bui Thi Nhan, 62 years old, said: “My house is near the entrance to the exhibition. Seeing visitors with their bulky backpacks and children crying from the heat, I immediately took my family's old motorbike and transported them in groups to the entrance. Sometimes I went back and forth three or four times. It was tiring, but very enjoyable.” Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tu added: “We are young, healthy, and familiar with the village roads and alleys, so we consider helping visitors as contributing to promoting the image of our hometown. Tourists who come to Dong Anh and are welcomed with such warmth and kindness will surely remember it forever.”

Not only young people, but also the elderly contributed. Mr. Bui Van Vien, despite being over 70 years old, volunteered to walk and guide visitors along a shortcut through the alley to ensure they arrived in time for the exhibition...

These simple stories touched many tourists. Le Quang Minh, a tourist from Nam Dinh, recounted: “My family was stranded for almost an hour, and we thought we wouldn’t make it in time. Luckily, a villager drove my wife and children ahead of us, then came back to pick me up. It was a small thing, but it made me feel warm, like I was welcomed with genuine kindness.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Khai, from Hung Yen province, said: "I was really surprised to see people spontaneously regulating traffic and transporting passengers by motorbike. This is not only a sign of hospitality, but also shows the very high sense of community among Vietnamese people."

The image of the kind and diligent people of Xuan Trach amidst the bustling crowds eased the fatigue and spread joy. Without needing titles or praise, they became special "volunteers" of the exhibition.

The exhibition showcasing the country's and Hanoi's achievements was successful not only in its scale, the number of visitors, or the content of the exhibits, but also in the simple, humane stories like these. The actions of the people of Xuan Trach added a beautiful color to the overall picture, demonstrating the vitality of community culture, the sense of responsibility, and the hospitality of the people of the capital city...
