Every 15th day of the 8th lunar month, all over the country is bustling with lanterns, star lanterns, moon cakes...

According to traditional customs, Mid-Autumn Festival is a festival of reunion, where families gather together. This is an opportunity for parents to express their love for their children in a specific way, depending on their economic capacity. Therefore, family love becomes even closer. Also on this occasion, people buy moon cakes, tea, wine to worship their ancestors, and give to grandparents, parents, relatives, teachers, friends, etc.

Looking forward to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the excitement was shown on the faces of the children. Because every Mid-Autumn Festival, in every house, children will be prepared by grandparents and parents with beautiful lanterns, the children are taught to dance, sing and watch the moon by teachers. Especially, there are some fun activities organized by schools as well as families that are extremely attractive.

Adults are also happy and look forward to the Mid-Autumn Festival, families break the cake together, carry lanterns and create a warm, cozy and exciting atmosphere. The streets are bustling with the sound of lion dance drums, the lanterns are colorful, sparkling and warm. The colorful lanterns are made from items close to daily life such as paper, fabric, silk, colorful plastic paper, bamboo, candles..., containing many different meanings. The traditional Mid-Autumn lantern has a variety of shapes such as carp lanterns, star lanterns..., has become a gift containing many childhood memories of each person and has many different meanings.

The Mid-Autumn Festival represents people's wishes for a bountiful harvest. Looking at the moon is also a way to predict the weather, crops, etc. according to folk experience. It can be seen that the Mid-Autumn Festival has many profound meanings. Modern life today is busy with the hustle and bustle of making a living, the Mid-Autumn Festival has also changed somewhat. However, the value of that beautiful traditional culture has not faded, it still holds an important and indispensable position in the hearts of any Vietnamese person.
