According to VTC News, the main referee for the match between Vietnam and Iraq is Abdulla Al Marri (Qatar). Al Marri's two assistants are Khalaf Khaled and Alshammari Faisal (also from Qatar). The fourth referee is Albadowe Ahmad Bin Ahmad from Singapore.
Mr. Al Marri has officiated nearly 40 matches in the past 5 years as the main referee. Notably, the Qatari "king in black" has not issued any red cards during this time.

Referee Al Marri also regularly serves as a video assistant referee (VAR) or fourth official in matches in the AFC Champions League, Asian youth tournaments and international friendlies of the national team.
Mr. Al Marri was born in 1992 and is one of the prestigious young referees of AFC. He once set a goal to work at the 2022 World Cup in his home country of Qatar but was unsuccessful. Mr. Al Marri received a scholarship from the Qatar Foundation and was considered an excellent student in sports management.
In the past, Mr. Al Marri has never officially refereed any matches of the Vietnamese team. However, the young "man in black" was an assistant in the VAR department in the match between the Vietnamese team and Australia in the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup.
Mr. Al Marri's "highlight" was the situation when Nguyen Phong Hong Duy kicked the ball and hit the opponent's hand in the penalty area. VAR informed the main referee Abdulrahman Al-Jassim about the possibility of a penalty for the Vietnamese team. However, Mr. Al-Jassim decided not to award a penalty after consulting the screen.
The match against Iraq is the first official match at home for coach Philippe Troussier as head coach of the Vietnam national team. Before that, the Vietnam national team also had a trip to the Philippines on November 16. These two matches are both in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup. The goal of the Vietnam national team is to have at least 1 victory.
