This July, the Vietnamese stock market celebrates its 25th anniversary of official operation. After 25 years, the Vietnamese stock market is now approaching its goal of upgrading from frontier to emerging, with a series of strong reforms.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the stock market's operation, on July 23, 2025, Finance Newspaper - Investment organized the Seminar "New Capital Flow Driving Force", focusing on decoding the real driving force of capital flows in the new period, key macroeconomic policies, domestic and foreign capital flows, conditions to activate and promote capital flows, through which market members can identify and seize opportunities, while promoting innovation efforts, accompanying and contributing to the new development stage of the country.
Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Mr. Pham Van Hoanh - Editor-in-Chief of Finance - Investment Newspaper commented: "A quarter of a century has passed, leaving behind a long journey with many achievements that no one can deny, especially when we look at the market size and a large investor community today compared to the first faltering steps of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange exactly 25 years ago".

From the initial trading sessions which could be said to be quite "small" and "boring" with only 2 stocks, the Vietnamese stock market has gradually become one of the most important medium and long-term capital mobilization channels of the economy , and at the same time is also a very vibrant "playground", attracting the attention of a large part of society.
Mr. Pham Van Hoanh shared an interesting coincidence that right on these days, when market members are quite busy with many activities celebrating a meaningful milestone, the Vietnamese stock market witnessed explosive trading sessions in both quantity and value of transactions, even reaching the highest level in the ASEAN regional markets.
Are these sublime trading sessions the result of the push of new capital flows arising from investors who are clearly seeing the wide-open opportunities from a market that is always considered to be full of potential? How are domestic and international investors evaluating those opportunities? Is there really a strong push from new capital flows for the Vietnamese stock market to continue to sail forward and where do these capital flows come from? And what additional conditions are needed for these capital flows to be promoted to become stronger, longer-term and more sustainable, thereby increasing the push for the Vietnamese stock market to develop?
Looking at the general picture of the economy, combined with expectations from the upcoming positive market movements, surely everyone has their own interpretation of the recent bustling trading activities. However, to contribute to clarifying and also to help verify more clearly the arguments of each investor in a more far-sighted, long-term perspective, leading experts from market management agencies and investment organizations will contribute arguments and analysis around the main topic "New capital flow driving force".
"Hopefully, the interesting coincidence between the topic of the discussion and what is happening in reality these days will help our discussion become more attractive and lively, providing the investor community with a lot of extremely useful information to make more reasonable and effective decisions in their investment activities. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for us to continue to "advise", helping policy makers continue to improve institutions and the business community to improve transparency in governance, create a more attractive playground, attract more market members, and make the stock market the most important capital mobilization channel for the economy to achieve the double-digit growth target", the Editor -in-Chief of the Finance - Investment Newspaper hopes.
