Effective solutions to prevent crime and social evils

DTO - By September 2024, provincial departments, branches, district and city People's Committees will continue to effectively implement crime and social evil prevention work, contributing to ensuring security and order in the province. In particular, focusing on solutions to propagate and warn about methods and tricks of all types of crimes so that people can raise awareness, proactively prevent and proactively report crimes.

Implementing the task of crime prevention, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (LD-TB&XH) coordinated with relevant agencies to promote propaganda,education and dissemination of laws on prevention and control of social evils and drug addiction treatment. Notably, coordinating with Dong Thap Newspaper to implement a special page on Prevention and Control of Social Evils; coordinating with Dong Thap Radio and Television to broadcast the column "The path to rehabilitation, typical shining examples after drug addiction treatment". Responding to "World Day against human trafficking" and "National Day against human trafficking on July 30", the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of districts and cities organized over 280 propaganda sessions with over 6,260 participants; distributed over 4,600 leaflets on legal policies and provided addresses of counseling and support points for drug addicts and families with drug addicts through a toll-free counseling hotline.

In the third quarter of 2024, 75 compulsory drug treatment students completed their terms of service, and 76 students completed voluntary treatment. In addition, the Provincial Drug Treatment Facility received 141 new students, thereby managing 508 students including compulsory drug treatment, voluntary drug treatment and social subjects. Mr. Le Van Rang - Director of the Provincial Addiction Treatment Facility, said: “The facility focuses on implementing measures for management, education, treatment, detoxification and vocational training suitable for students. In addition, the Provincial Addiction Treatment Facility promotes propaganda activities for 597 students on legal documents on drug prevention and control; provides counseling to help students better understand the harmful effects of drugs on their lives and their families; and ways to prevent dangers caused by drugs in order to change behavior so that subjects can feel secure in good drug rehabilitation...”.

Departments, branches and localities continue to propagate and warn about the methods and tricks of all types of criminals. The Provincial Border Guard Command organized 39 propaganda sessions, attracting nearly 1,200 people in the border area; created many news and propaganda articles on crime prevention and control broadcast on local radio stations and through the "Border Loudspeaker" model. In addition, for families with children suspected of participating in social evils, the Border Guard Stations assigned officers and soldiers to regularly approach and visit their homes to mobilize, reform and educate them to help gradually change their behavior.

The provincial police, district and city People's Committees have stepped up propaganda and education on the law and methods and tricks of various types of crimes with diverse forms and rich content. Through propaganda work, the masses have voluntarily handed over 2,083 weapons and support tools of all kinds; provided more than 450 valuable pieces of information to serve the fight against crime and build the movement "All people protect national security" in the locality.

Promoting the achieved results, the provincial departments, branches, district and city People's Committees continue to carry out the task of preventing and combating crimes and social evils. The police force proactively deploys solutions to combat crimes, focusing on investigating and quickly solving serious and complicated cases occurring in the area.
