The effectiveness of the North Central region emission reduction agreement

Quang Tri is one of the localities benefiting from the North Central Region Emission Reduction Agreement (ERPA). In recent times, the implementation of ERPA in the province has become a driving force, contributing positively to forest protection and development in Quang Tri.

According to data from the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, the total revenue from ERPA (accumulated to June 30, 2025) is over VND 364.9 billion. Regarding the payment of ERPA money to beneficiaries, the total amount disbursed to date is over VND 326.7 billion, reaching 89.68% of the total amount received. Of which, Quang Binh province (old) has disbursed over VND 271.4 billion, reaching 90.78% of the total amount received; Quang Tri province (old) has disbursed over VND 55.3 billion, reaching 84.63% of the total amount received.

Regarding the disbursement results at forest owners who are organizations, commune-level People's Committees and other organizations, the total amount disbursed up to June 30 was more than 52.2 billion VND, reaching 17.66% of the total amount received. The total estimated amount disbursed at forest owners who are organizations and commune-level People's Committees in the last 6 months of 2025 is over 105 billion VND.

Funding from ERPA not only supports forest management but also directly generates income for local communities, especially ethnic minorities, contributing to reducing deforestation and improving the quality of life.
