On social media platform X , rumor expert Majin Bu shared images allegedly of the iPhone 17 Pro, a smartphone model expected to be launched by Apple later this year.
While all attention is focused on the ultra-thin iPhone 17, Apple is still concentrating on improving the design of the iPhone 17 Pro. Based on the latest rumors and images, the device may feature a new camera system, retaining the triangular lens layout but with a different arrangement.
The iPhone 17 Pro in the image is black, highlighting the new camera module design. Instead of a square surround for the lens, the camera bump now extends across the entire width of the back, in a different color from the rest.
While the camera lens remains on the left and arranged in a triangular shape, auxiliary components such as the microphone, LED flash, and LiDAR sensor have been moved to the right.

If the rumors are accurate, the camera on the iPhone 17 Pro could remind many people of the Google Pixel. For comparison, recent iPhone Pro models have a square camera module in the upper left corner. The LED flash, microphone, and LiDAR sensor are located along the telephoto lens.
Regarding specifications, 9to5Mac 's source indicates that the iPhone 17 Pro will feature a 48MP telephoto camera instead of a 12MP one, supporting multi-camera video recording, in addition to a 24MP selfie camera.
The images also show that the camera module on the iPhone 17 Pro has a darker black tone, different from the rest of the back. Previously, leaker Jon Prosser stated that the back of the iPhone 17 Pro has two tones, with the camera module being darker than the rest.
Aside from the rear camera, the remaining details on the iPhone 17 Pro are almost unchanged compared to its predecessor, including the placement of the power button and Camera Control.
Many questions remain regarding image accuracy. For example, the flash and LiDAR sensor are typically placed close to the lens to increase accuracy. It's unclear whether the new camera module design is functional or simply for aesthetic purposes.
Currently, it's unclear whether the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a different camera setup. This is highly likely, as Apple tends to maintain a similar design across the iPhone Pro line.
The new design may also be applied to the ultra-slim model (tentatively called iPhone 17 Air). Based on the renders, the camera module is lower because it only contains a single lens on the left, while the microphone and LED flash are on the right.
