The French side thrashed Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich to claim their first European title and complete the treble in 2024/25. Desire Doue scored twice, alongside goals from Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and substitute Senny Mayulu.
Despite not scoring, coach Enrique especially praised Ousmane Dembele. The former Barcelona star had an excellent performance with extremely fierce pressing, contributing to two goals and almost paralyzing Inter's defense.
"The whole team defended fantastically," Enrique said in his post-match press conference. "Everyone is talking about the Ballon d'Or, and I will give it to Ousmane Dembele for the way he defended. Dembele is a role model with his exemplary pressing. In the final, he was outstanding. Dembele deserves this award not only for his goals but especially for his defending."
Dembele has been directly involved in 12 goals in PSG's 2024/25 Champions League campaign (nine goals and three assists). Similar to Karim Benzema's performance in the 2022 Ballon d'Or-winning season, Dembele has also been consistently brilliant in the Champions League knockout stages.
Meanwhile, coach Enrique has built a young and promising team, especially after the departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid. This is the second time the Spanish coach has won the treble in his coaching career, after winning the Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey with Barcelona in 2015.
