Defeating U23 Indonesia 1-0 in the final, U23 Vietnam won the U23 Southeast Asian Championship for the third consecutive time. Coach Kim Sang Sik also made history by becoming the first coach in the region to win the championship with the national team and U23 in the same year.
The Korean strategist shared: "I am very happy that U23 Vietnam won U23 Indonesia, defending the championship. This is the third consecutive U23 Southeast Asian championship for U23 Vietnam. The players did not give up, fighting until the last minute.
I congratulate the players and the fans. I am very proud of my players. In this match, the stadium was mainly filled with Indonesian fans, but the players still maintained their fighting spirit."

"We have been preparing for the past month. Despite difficulties and pressure, U23 Vietnam fought together. I am very happy and proud that through matches like this, the players have the opportunity to develop.
At the end of the match, when many players were tired, I had to do something to calm them down. Playing in front of a large crowd, it was difficult to direct, so we used scarves to signal the players. The defense fought hard to protect the result and win.
I want the players to improve their experience and ability after this championship. The next two tournaments, the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games, are very important. I want them to perform well in the future," coach Kim Sang Sik added.

Regarding the act of stacking many water bottles in the area outside the touchline, which is believed to be intended to make it difficult for U23 Indonesia players to throw the ball in, the captain of U23 Vietnam explained: "The weather is very hot, we stacked the water bottles like that so that the players could drink water conveniently, there was no other intention."
Meanwhile, striker Dinh Bac said: "I am very happy and excited. This is the third consecutive championship of U23 Vietnam at the U23 Southeast Asian tournament, thereby becoming a stepping stone for the team to be more successful in the upcoming period.
Before the tournament, my teammates and I were very determined, set the goal of winning the championship and we achieved it. We strived to get the best results, bringing the best achievements for Vietnamese football in the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers and SEA Games."
