Where talent is born from the soldier's uniform

In the hot weather of the summer days at the end of July, the young soldiers and campers still diligently practiced for the group dance competition, paying attention to each movement with a high sense of discipline and responsibility. Unprofessional, without many training conditions, but with seriousness and determination, the teams brought vibrant, uniform and inspiring performances.

Sergeant Nguyen Cong Bao, a nurse from the Logistics and Technical Department of Brigade 416, shared: “This is the first time I have participated in a major competition at the Military Region level. Although the training time was short, I was still confused and quite tired. However, with the dedicated guidance of the choreographer and the spirit of solidarity in the team, after completing the competition, I felt very happy and excited."

Unprofessional, without many training conditions, but with seriousness and determination, the teams brought vibrant, consistent and inspiring performances.

Not only showing talent through art performances, the camp gate decoration contest is also an opportunity for new soldiers and campers to promote their creativity and ingenuity. The camp gates are built from simple materials such as wood, bamboo, parachute cord, cardboard, etc. but are elaborate and sturdy. The Truong Sa landmark model built from foam, propaganda panels hand-painted with watercolors, small decorative items made from old milk cans, plastic bottles, coconut leaves, etc. all show the meticulousness and dedication of the "non-professional artists". This is not only a technical contest but also a place to demonstrate the collective spirit and creativity of young soldiers.

The camp became a useful playground, contributing to fostering ideals, solidarity and cohesion among units.

Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Van Luong, Deputy Political Commissar of Regiment 9, said: “The preparation work encountered many difficulties due to the large amount of work, urgent time, and many contents requiring creativity and careful investment. In particular, the movement from the Regiment to Brigade 416, a distance of nearly 3 hours, affected the progress of disassembly and staging of items. However, with a high sense of responsibility, the officers and soldiers of Regiment 9 have strived to overcome difficulties, completed their tasks well and are determined to achieve high results at the camp."

When the sun set, the campfire was lit, and the atmosphere of the camp became warmer and closer than ever. Collective games, singing, laughter, and arms around each other erased all boundaries between units. Campers from sister units also joined the young soldiers, creating a lively and emotional night. The campfire not only lit up joy, but also lit up in each person the belief and love for the soldier's uniform.

The traditional fire was lit during the campfire night, connecting soldiers and campers through solidarity.

Nguyen Thi Thuy Vi, a third-year student majoring in Primary Education at An Giang University, a sister unit of the 6th Artillery Brigade, shared: “I have had the opportunity to participate in three camps with the Army, but this is the first time I have worked directly with the 6th Brigade. I have always been impressed by the sense of responsibility, serious investment and creativity of the officers and soldiers. Through the program, I am even more proud of the close, friendly relationship between students and young soldiers in the Army.”

Colonel Le Van Viet, Deputy Chief of Political Department of Military Region 9 affirmed: “Through the activities at the camp, we have contributed to educating revolutionary ideals and fostering pride in the traditions of the nation, the Party, the Army and the Military Region for the younger generation. The success of this camp is the result of close direction, high sense of responsibility from officers and soldiers of the units and close coordination and sharing among the participating forces.”

Free medical examination - Military-civilian solidarity

In addition to the exciting camp activities, the mass mobilization work also left many deep impressions. The Organizing Committee coordinated with Military Hospital 120 (Department of Logistics and Engineering) to organize medical examinations, health consultations and free medicine distribution for 300 people, mainly policy families, lonely elderly people and poor households in An Cu commune and Chi Lang ward, An Giang province; thereby contributing to strengthening the military-civilian relationship, spreading the beautiful image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era.

Colonel Le Thanh Luu (right), Head of the Organizing Committee of the Traditional Youth Camp of the 9th Military Region's Armed Forces Brigades, coordinated with Military Hospital 120 to examine and treat local people.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Phuong, a resident of Chi Lang ward, emotionally shared: “I had tinnitus and blurred vision, but I had no money and did not dare to go to the doctor. At first, I was scared, but the army doctors were very gentle and explained clearly. They gave me detailed advice, which helped me feel much more secure."

Colonel Tran Minh Han, Political Commissar of Military Hospital 120, said that as soon as the plan was received, the hospital promptly and systematically implemented all preparations, from human resources to equipment and medicine. This is not only a simple medical activity but also demonstrates the spirit of “serving the people”, social responsibility and the close bond between the army and the people.
