Speaking after the 1-4 loss of the Vietnamese women's team to Werder Bremen (Germany) on the evening of May 16, coach Mai Duc Chung shared that he was satisfied with the fighting spirit of his players, and at the same time frankly acknowledged the team's limitations during the transition period.
"The team played their best, they have only been together for 10 days so the preparation time is very short. The intensity of the match is not much, the players have just practiced endurance, some technical and tactical exercises with the two matches against Ho Chi Minh City Club and Werder Bremen. The team's passing coordination is broken a lot" - Coach Mai Duc Chung assessed.
Coach Mai Duc Chung said physical fitness was the biggest problem in the 1-4 defeat against the German representative.
Regarding physical strength, a key factor in modern football, coach Mai Duc Chung frankly admitted that the team is not yet in good shape: "Without physical strength in current football, it is difficult to compete. This match proves it. The team tried their best but their physical strength is not guaranteed. I don't have to say it again, but when meeting Germany, they only lost 1-2 because their physical strength was guaranteed."
However, he assessed the match as a good opportunity to test the team, especially the young players in the process of rejuvenating the team: "Having this match is very good, creating conditions for young players when we are rejuvenating. We must let them compete to see their abilities."

Thank you very much to the audience who came to cheer. I hope to go to Germany so that we can meet stronger teams and help the team progress further."
Mr. Chung also informed that player Nguyen Thi Van only had a minor problem, a swollen instep due to being stepped on by an opponent, but the injury was not serious.
