Nam Dinh FC defeated Ratchaburi 3-1 in the first leg of the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Two group stage at Thien Truong. The V-League champions are currently tied on points with the Thai football representative but are temporarily ranked 2nd thanks to a better head-to-head record.

Nam Dinh FC determined to win to enter the knockout round of AFC Champions League Two early
Group F has determined the first ticket to the knockout round as well as the team that has almost lost the chance to continue. After 4 rounds, Gamba Osaka (Japan) with a perfect record of winning, became the first club to pass the group stage, while Eastern AA (Hong Kong - China) is at the bottom of the group with 4 consecutive losses.
Therefore, the result of the rematch between Nam Dinh Club and host Ratchaburi can determine the owner of the second place in Group F to enter the knockout round of AFC Champions League Two this season.

Speaking at the press conference before the match, coach Mauro Jeronimo affirmed: "This will be an important match for Nam Dinh Club. The whole team will try their best to win tomorrow's match as well as get a ticket to advance further into this tournament."
The Portuguese strategist also believes that in football there are many challenges and unpredictable scenarios, but his team has had a good preparation process so they will reap positive results. "No match is easy, but our players are confident towards a victory," added coach Jeronimo.
Mr. Jeronimo has many years of experience in youth training at PVF and has rich experience in coaching and competing in the National First Division. However, when PVF-CAND got a place to participate in V-League, the coach born in 1987 was no longer associated with the Hung Yen team.

After Nam Dinh FC changed the head coach twice in the early stages of the 2025-2026 season, Mauro Jeronimo was chosen by the Southern team's leadership. This young strategist immediately helped Nam Dinh win the match and enter the quarter-finals of the National Cup.
Expressing his excitement before leading a Vietnamese team to a continental tournament for the first time, coach Jeronimo shared: "I feel very happy and excited before my first match at the continental tournament. This is an opportunity for me to see my team compete and show their ambition in this arena. We entered the match with the mindset of wanting to win. That makes me excited and confident before tomorrow's match."
Coach Mauro Jeronimo said Ratchaburi is a strong team but believes in his new players. He commented: "The teams participating in AFC Champions League Two all have high professional quality and class. Therefore, each match will be exciting and competitive, but we hope to have a performance that will satisfy the home audience and achieve positive results."
Coach Mauro Jeronimo emphasized: "We want to show a beautiful image, aspiration and fighting spirit when representing Vietnam in the international arena. Hopefully the audience coming to the stadium tomorrow will enjoy a good match, witnessing the two teams compete with the spirit of fair play."
