Premier League coach needs 6 stitches for over-excited celebration

A Premier League manager needed six stitches to his head after celebrating too much after Nottingham player Chris Wood scored the opening goal against Brentford.

On the evening of August 17 (Vietnam time), Nottingham hosted Brentford in the first round of the Premier League. Coach Nuno Santo's team had a 3-1 victory over The Bees at City Ground.

Nottingham's top scorer last season, Chris Wood, continued his scoring form. It took him just five minutes to open the scoring.

After this goal, Nottingham Forest's goalkeeping coach Rui Barbosa was so excited while celebrating that he hit his head on the bench. He immediately needed the support of medical staff on the field.

As a result, Mr. Rui Barbosa had to have six stitches to bandage the wound. Coach Nuno admitted later that Barbosa felt dizzy. "He had to have six stitches! A very heavy stitch. Very heavy. He was dizzy" - Coach Nuno Santo shared with The Sun.

Nottingham Forest led 3-0 at half-time, all but sealing an impressive start to the new season. Wood scored twice in a convincing win over Brentford, along with a goal from new signing Dan Ndoye, before Thiago made it 3-1 for Brentford in the second half.

It was Forest's first opening-day win since a 1-0 win over Millwall in 2017. Wood's opener, meanwhile, was Nottingham Forest's earliest opening-day goal in the Premier League.
