"Tien Linh is one of my favorite players in the Vietnam team. Besides coming here to watch the field, I also watch Tien Linh play. He is one of the best players in Vietnam at the moment," Lao head coach Ha Hyeok-jun shared at a press conference on the afternoon of March 24, one day before the match with the Vietnam team in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
Coach Ha also praised Quang Hai alongside Tien Linh. He affirmed that the CAHN midfielder is very dangerous.
"I am impressed with both Quang Hai and Tien Linh. Quang Hai is the most dangerous in the Vietnamese team. Tomorrow's match will be difficult for us because Vietnam is a strong team. But Laos will still try to create challenges for the opponent," said the Korean strategist.
The Korean strategist also shared his goal for tomorrow's match, which is to try to win 1 point.
"We have less than 10 days to prepare for the 2027 Asian Cup campaign, so there is still a lot of work to do. Even though we don't know whether we will win or lose, we will definitely try our best and not let Vietnam have an easy game. We want to strive to bring home at least 1 point," said coach Ha.
"I want to help the Lao national team become stronger with foreign-born players. I also want to bring Lao players to Korea, Thailand or Vietnam. Players going abroad will help Laos develop more," Mr. Ha added.
Also at the press conference, Vietnamese-origin player Damoth Thongkhamsavath, a new Lao player of Thanh Hoa Club, shared: "I am a person of Vietnamese blood. I thank the fans for their attention. After the ASEAN Cup, I have improved a lot."
Vietnam team will host Laos at Binh Duong stadium at 7:30 p.m. on March 25.
