In their first time playing on the world’s highest level of women’s football, the Vietnamese women’s team could not cause a surprise against the United States – the world’s number one team and champions of the last two World Cups. However, the Vietnamese girls showed a lot, especially the defense played effectively.

Speaking after the match, the US women's team coach Andonovsk had some "winged" words for the Vietnamese women's defense: "Before the match, we thought Vietnam would play defensively. Of course, I was not surprised by that. But even with that expectation, the US players still had many difficulties, against a Vietnam team that was very well organized in defense. Their defenders were brave in tackling. Anyway, I think the US players wasted many opportunities. We should have scored more goals."
According to coach Andonovski, he was impressed with the strong spirit of solidarity of the Vietnamese women's team instead of any individual. "It is difficult to name a name in the Vietnamese women's team that impressed me the most. I think Vietnam played with a spirit of solidarity and high determination," said coach Andonovski.

Meanwhile, famous striker Alex Morgan, a legend of American women's soccer with 121 goals in 207 matches, said that the Vietnamese women's team created many difficulties for her and her teammates. "The Vietnamese women's team created challenges for us. They are very strong, especially in defense. They connected very well to close the gaps. They did not pose any threat to us, but they defended extremely well," Alex Morgan shared.
According to the schedule, the US women's team will meet the Netherlands at 8:00 a.m. on July 27 (Vietnam time), while the Vietnamese women's team will play Portugal at 2:30 p.m. (Vietnam time) in Hamilton.
