According to statistics from the Hanoi Employment Service Center, in August, the entire city recorded 5,240 applications approved for unemployment benefits (down 41% compared to the 8,893 applications in July).

Based on the survey results and information collected from 5,240 applications, the Hanoi Employment Service Center has provided some detailed analysis on the structure of unemployed labor. Accordingly, the group of female workers from 25 to 40 years old and the group over 40 years old still accounts for the majority of the total number of applicants. Of which, the age group 25 - 40 accounts for the highest proportion with 64.77%. The age group over 40 accounts for 28%, a slight increase compared to 24% in July, which shows that the unemployment situation among middle-aged workers has not changed much.
Another notable figure is that female workers continue to be at higher risk of unemployment than men. The number of benefit applications from female workers accounts for over 60%, while male workers only account for about 40%.
According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, the unemployment insurance policy is playing an important role in stabilizing the labor market and ensuring social security. This policy not only provides financial support to workers but also provides consulting services, job referrals, as well as training support to improve skills, helping them return to work soon.
