Tri An Lake is 323 m2 wide, formed from the Tri An hydroelectric project. The lake is located in 4 districts of Dong Nai province including: Vinh Cuu, Trang Bom, Thong Nhat and Dinh Quan, about 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City. There are 76 large and small islands on the lake.
Most of Tri An Lake is dry, with the bottom exposed like this during the dry season.
During the rainy season, Tri An Lake is vast with waves crashing against the shore like the sea. It is a place where hundreds of households make a living by fishing.
The receding waters left behind barren gravel banks.
In the dry season, the water dries up, the lake gradually dries up, from a vast "sea of water" it turns into a desert.
Many species of birds "take advantage" of this space to shelter and breed.
At its peak around May-June every year, a large, flat area is exposed, dry and barren. Water collects in the main river and small streams.

People can leisurely ride their motorbikes straight into the core of the lake to feel the vastness of the reservoir for the Tri An hydroelectric project.
The receding waters left behind a vast, boundless land that stretched as far as the eye could see.
Along the way, we can come across some remaining small streams. And there, hundreds of dead fish float because the water is shallow, hot, and cannot survive.

Deep inside, the image of dense black streaks appeared, those were ancient tree stumps, the remaining traces of the old forests. Because of hydroelectric power, these forests were flattened, giving way to make water reservoirs.
The receding water also revealed thousands of ancient tree stumps buried under the lake bed.
The end of the lake, near the hydroelectric dam. During the rainy season, the water level rises almost to the edge of the bridge, but now it has receded to just the riverbed.
According to Tri An Hydropower Company, it is currently the end of the dry season and the water level in Tri An Lake has dropped sharply. Specifically, the lake level is at 50.6 m (lake level is 62 m, dead water level is 50 m). This is the lowest water level in the past 13 years.
Previously, the record low water level of the lake was 49.99 m (0.01 m lower than the dead water level) recorded in 2010.
