(HGO ) - On the morning of November 15, the Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with Hau Giang Radio and Television Station and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to carry out the 90th "Sympathy and Sharing" program for the family of Ms. Vo Thi Thao, living in Long Binh 2 Hamlet, Long Phu Commune, Long My Town.
Donors attended the program to give gifts to Ms. Thao's family .
Thao's family has 3 members, is a poor household with a certificate. 8 years ago, Thao's husband left, since then her mental health has not been stable. Currently, Thao lives with her mother and daughter. Thao's mother has a mental illness but has no money for treatment, her daughter, Vo Thi Kim Anh, is in 2nd grade at Le Van Tam Primary School, and is malnourished.
Four years ago, her family's house collapsed, and now there is no place to live, so they have to rent a house. The family of three currently depends on Ms. Thao's job selling lottery tickets for their income.
Through the program "Sympathy and sharing", Ms. Thao's family received support of over 183 million VND from local authorities, agencies, units, Red Cross societies at all levels, and benefactors.
Long My town Red Cross supports poor households in Long Phu commune.
On this occasion, the Red Cross Society of Long My town also mobilized donors to support 19 gifts, each worth about 300,000 VND, for disadvantaged households in the area.
