- Signing of an agreement to ensure security and order in the border area between Ca Mau province and Can Tho city.
- Disseminating laws on road traffic safety and order.
More than 20 forces, including police, local security and order officers, and various departments and agencies, were deployed to restore urban order and traffic safety corridors.
The campaign aims to address the persistent problem of encroachment on sidewalks and roadsides for commercial purposes, the erection of advertising signs, awnings, and stalls, which has been a complex issue in recent times, causing unsightly conditions, obstructing traffic , and posing potential accident risks.
The encroachment on sidewalks and roadsides for trading, erecting advertising signs, and setting up awnings remains a complex issue, causing unsightly conditions, obstructing traffic, and posing a potential accident hazard.
During this peak period, the forces focused on disseminating information and encouraging people to voluntarily dismantle illegal structures and objects; to refrain from encroaching on roads and sidewalks for business purposes; and to strictly comply with traffic safety regulations such as wearing helmets, avoiding speeding and reckless driving, and not carrying more passengers than permitted. Local authorities affirmed that they would strictly handle cases of deliberate violations.
Notably, through persuasion efforts, many households have voluntarily dismantled awnings, signs, and tables and chairs that encroached on sidewalks, contributing to restoring unobstructed space to the streets.
Mobile vehicles broadcast notices regarding the handling of construction and business violations encroaching on road safety corridors along the routes.
Lieutenant Colonel Lam Van Tang, of the Hoa Binh Commune Police, stated: “People need to understand that maintaining traffic safety corridors is not only about ensuring aesthetics but also about ensuring safety for themselves and the community. In cases of deliberate violations, the authorities will resolutely handle them according to regulations.”
Along with the decisive actions of the government and law enforcement agencies, the consensus and voluntary compliance of each citizen are considered key factors for the sustainable effectiveness of restoring urban order and ensuring traffic safety corridors.
The authorities reminded and corrected people not to encroach on the road and sidewalks for business purposes.
Every citizen should play the role of an active communicator, mobilizing relatives and the community to work together to build Hoa Binh commune into an increasingly bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe, and civilized place.
