The discussion section with the theme of preserving traditional crafts with ups and downs in modern life by handmade paper flower artisan Tran Phu and culinary culture artisan Ho Dac Thieu Anh, understanding the challenges and responsibilities of young people when renewing cultural values in contemporary life through the story of Ms. Phan Ngoc Hieu, founder of the Maypaperflower brand.

For nearly 400 years (1558 - 1945) as the capital of Dang Trong and the Nguyen Dynasty, the ancient capital of Hue is one of the cradles of Vietnamese cultural history.

Having gone through many ups and downs, this land now has the value of a living museum because it is still a place where tangible and intangible cultural heritages containing many values symbolizing the intelligence and soul of the Vietnamese people converge and preserve.

Among them, traditional paper flowers from Thanh Tien village are one of the handmade beauties that have survived through hundreds of years of turbulent history to continue to contribute to contemporary life.

Artisan Tran Phu has been involved in the Thanh Tien paper flower making profession for over 50 years. Born in Thanh Tien village, growing up in a family with a grandfather and father who made paper flowers, artisan Tran Phu started making flowers at the age of 7. However, he still considers himself a “paper flower adult”.

In the series of events, the exhibition aims to introduce to traditional culture lovers in Ho Chi Minh City the beauty of Hue handmade paper flowers made by artisan Tran Phu, Thanh Tien village (Phu Mau commune, Phu Vang district, Thua Thien Hue province).

At the same time, culinary culture artist Ho Dac Thieu Anh will bring to the public the story of preserving and spreading traditional cuisine with its ups and downs in modern life, and the story of her bringing Thanh Tien paper flowers with her on every trip and dish.

The paper flower making workshop and artistic fruit cake promises to bring the public interesting experiences.
