Spreading love from houses built with compassion.

Having previously lived in a dilapidated, makeshift house, Mr. Danh Lanh's family (Ninh Phuoc hamlet, Hong Dan commune) now has a sturdy, spacious home. This "Great Solidarity" house was built with funds from the "For the Poor" fund, supported by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, worth 60 million VND.

Mr. Lanh said emotionally, “Thanks to the support in building a new house, my family no longer has to worry about rain and wind blowing through. This help not only provides a warm home but also gives my family more motivation to overcome difficulties, strive to do business, and improve our lives. Thank you for the concern of the Party, the State, and the community for difficult circumstances like my family.”

More than three months ago, the four members of Ms. Tran Thi Hong Gam's family (An Trach Dong hamlet, Vinh Trach ward) had to live crammed into a dilapidated house with corrugated iron roofing and thatched walls. Every time there was a storm, the house looked like it could collapse at any moment. Ms. Gam works collecting and buying scrap metal, and her husband works as a laborer. Their income is unstable, and both she and her husband suffer from chronic illnesses, with two young children to support. Providing for their daily meals is already a struggle, let alone thinking about repairing or rebuilding their house.

Understanding the difficulties faced by Ms. Gam's family, in June 2025, the Provincial Farmers' Association mobilized benefactors to support the construction of a " Farmers' Shelter " house. Ms. Hong Gam shared: "We worked hard for many years, but my husband and I remained trapped in poverty. Thanks to the support and care of the government and philanthropists, my family not only has a sturdy roof over our heads, but we also received support in the form of rice and school supplies for our children. Now that we have a solid house to live in, we can work with peace of mind to improve our lives and have the means to provide our children with a proper education."

These are just two of the many stories of love and sharing shown by society as a whole towards the poor. The concern of all levels of government, sectors, and society as a whole has given them the motivation to rise above their circumstances and achieve stable lives.

No one should be left behind.

Implementing the emulation movement "For the poor - Leaving no one behind," the province has mobilized the strength of the entire political system and society, deploying many practical activities, creating a positive effect and spreading widely.

Playing a core role in implementing the movement, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province focuses on innovating methods, ensuring synchronized, practical implementation that is appropriate to the conditions of each locality. It links the fundraising for the poor with national target programs on sustainable poverty reduction, new rural development, and development in ethnic minority areas. The Fatherland Front Committees at all levels play a central role in connecting social resources, coordinating closely with the government, businesses, and mass organizations to organize direct support activities, prioritizing areas with special difficulties, poor households, and near-poor households.

The People's Committee of Dinh Thanh commune mobilized benefactors to donate rural traffic bridges and gifts to disadvantaged families.

According to statistics from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, in the first nine months of 2025, the "For the Poor" fund at all levels in the province received more than 220 billion VND. From this fund, many meaningful projects have been implemented such as: building rural traffic bridges, houses of compassion, houses of solidarity, providing scholarships, textbooks, free medical examinations and medicine, etc.

In order to spread the spirit of sharing and promote the strength of great solidarity , many localities and socio-political organizations have also realized the policy of caring for the poor through concrete actions such as: sponsoring poor households; supporting and assisting social welfare beneficiaries; linking each individual to a humanitarian cause; providing seedlings and livestock, etc.

In particular, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is a clear testament to the spirit of solidarity for the poor. The program was completed ahead of schedule, with a total of 9,594 houses supported and a total budget of over 471 billion VND.

Beyond just housing support, the province also focuses on creating sustainable livelihoods. Currently, the Provincial People's Committee is finalizing the Livelihood Support Project for poor and near-poor households, disadvantaged policy beneficiary families, and ethnic minorities for the period 2025-2027. The goal is that by the end of 2027, the entire province will no longer have disadvantaged policy beneficiary families; and strive to help at least 70% of poor and near-poor households and ethnic minorities escape poverty sustainably.

Besides government policies, an increasing number of businesses, organizations, individuals, charitable groups, and religious institutions are actively participating in meaningful activities such as: donating gifts, providing rice, building charity houses, supporting medical treatment, opening free kitchens, and free stalls... All of these have contributed to creating a warm and humane society, helping the poor and vulnerable to alleviate some of their life burdens.

The Bac Lieu Buddhist Charity Committee donated gifts to the poor.

With its flexible, people-oriented approach, and close connection to the grassroots, the "For the Poor - Leaving No One Behind" emulation movement is gradually deepening, arousing the spirit of self-reliance and the will to rise up among the people. Based on the achievements, Ca Mau province is moving closer to its goal of: secure housing, stable employment , sustainable development, and building a just, prosperous, and happy society.

To date, the province has 4,471 poor households (accounting for 0.84%) and 8,101 near-poor households (accounting for 1.51%). It is projected that by the end of 2025, the poverty rate will decrease to 0.75%, a reduction of 0.09% compared to 2024.
