Militia forces assist people in evacuating their property

On the morning of October 22, in the flood-prone area of Me Suot Street (Hoa Khanh Ward), people were urgently moving and raising their belongings to minimize damage when storm No. 12 made landfall.

Fearing a repeat of the historic flood in 2022, many households are making every effort to prepare every plan to protect their property and lives, ready to respond to major floods that may occur in the next few days.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vu (Me Suot Street, Hoa Khanh Ward) said: "Last year, the water rose very quickly, in just 15 minutes it flooded the whole house. Now, hearing the forecast of heavy rain, I have prepared the necessary items in case the water rises and jams the door, there is still a way to escape."

People moved their belongings to higher ground, ready to cope with heavy rain.

On the same morning, Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, together with Vice Chairman of Hoa Khanh Ward People's Committee Dang Ngoc Tuan, conducted a direct inspection at the residential area of Me Suot Street, directing the forces to regularly monitor weather developments, coordinate to deploy response measures, and support people to evacuate when necessary.

Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 5 and Vice Chairman of Hoa Khanh Ward People's Committee Dang Ngoc Tuan inspected the area of Me Suot Street.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Tuan, Vice Chairman of Hoa Khanh Ward People's Committee, said that the market area on Au Co Street and Me Suot Street is one of the places that is often flooded during heavy rains.

Currently, the ward has deployed forces, paying special attention to ensuring the safety of people's lives above all else. At the same time, directing the regular militia forces to closely coordinate with army units to support people in moving their belongings to higher places, and being ready to notify people about moving to other safe places when necessary.

"The ward has also prepared locations for evacuation and relocation of people in emergency situations, and has fully prepared logistics such as instant noodles, rice, drinking water and other necessary items to respond in the coming time if the storm situation becomes complicated," emphasized the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Khanh Ward.
