The University of Education (University of Danang ) opens its dormitory overnight so that foreign students and residents can take shelter during the upcoming storms.
Mr. Nguyen Vinh San, Head of the Administration Department of the University of Education - Danang University, said that all necessary conditions have been fully prepared to welcome people and students. However, up to now, no one has taken shelter.

“In previous years, students and residents usually only moved when the water level started to rise. At first, they tried to stay at their boarding houses to pack their belongings, and only when they saw the water level rising did they start moving into the school. Therefore, the school is always ready to open its doors at any time to welcome them,” Mr. San shared.

The Me Suot flood zone has about 710 households in the area at risk of deep flooding. Hoa Khanh Ward has developed a specific response plan, including arranging for people to be evacuated to the University of Education - Da Nang University, about 100m from the Me Suot residential area.
For those who need temporary shelter, the classroom area has been provided with drinking water, toilets, hundreds of boxes of instant noodles and bottled water supported by Hoa Khanh ward. The school has also proactively supplemented essential items. People only need to bring blankets, mats, pillows and a few personal belongings.

At the same time, Vo Thi Sau Primary School (Hai Chau Ward) also opened its schoolyard to allow people to drive their cars to avoid flooding due to the storm. The school is located in a high position and has never been flooded during the historic rain on October 14, 2022.

The school recommends that vehicle owners leave a contact phone number on the windshield, drive slowly, line up their vehicles as instructed, and move their vehicles out when the water recedes to serve teaching and learning activities after the storm. When the school yard is full, the school will temporarily stop accepting vehicles without notice.

Not only opening the yard to receive vehicles, Vo Thi Sau Primary School also arranged 10 classrooms as storm and flood shelters for people, with a capacity of about 200 people. These rooms are directly managed by the functional forces of Hai Chau ward, ready to welcome people to take shelter when necessary.
