The Miss Universe Vietnam contest has the official international name Miss Cosmo Vietnam, and is granted a Copyright Certificate under Decision No. 5136/2023/QTG dated June 21, 2023.
In addition, the reality TV show I am Miss Universe Vietnam was also granted a Copyright certificate under number 5852/2023/QTG, the Semi-final - Final of Miss Universe Vietnam program received Copyright under number 5850/2023/QTG on the same day, July 17, 2023.
All are owned by Saigon Universe Joint Stock Company (UniCorp), licensed by the Copyright Office under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Along with information about the new identity, the organizers also posted a clip to launch and introduce the official Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 of the contest.
The reigning Miss Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau, with her journey of effort to create success, believes that training creates victory. Ngoc Chau promises to continue to develop the mission and accompany the journey to find her successor.
Miss Universe Vietnam changed its international name to Miss Cosmo Vietnam.
Previously, a dispute occurred between Unicorp (Vietnam) and JKN Global Group (Thailand). JKN claimed that they were the legal owners of the names Miss Universe Vietnam. However, Unicorp asserted that the name Miss Universe Vietnam belonged to them.
Unicorp believes that the protection of the Miss Universe organization in Vietnam only includes the brand name and the English trademark Miss Universe.
In addition, the organizer of the Miss Universe Vietnam pageant also confirmed that it has temporarily suspended cooperation with the Miss Universe organization to send representatives to the contest from 2023. This unit will continue to organize Miss Universe Vietnam, but the winner will not be sent to participate in Miss Universe as in previous years.
