Miss Vietnam 2024: Reality show will be produced, contestants will have expenses covered

The head of the contest's organizing committee affirmed that they will cover all costs of accommodation, travel and costumes, ensuring fairness and equality for all contestants from the semi-final round to the final.

This afternoon (January 9), the first recruitment activity of Miss Vietnam 2024 officially kicked off at the Diplomatic Academy, Hanoi . This is an opportunity for students to interact with the organizing committee as well as learn from the experiences of their seniors, the beauty queens of previous seasons.

Candidates are covered all expenses.

Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper, Head of the contest's organizing committee, journalist Phung Cong Suong said that this year's contest will have four criteria: "Beauty-Culture-Intelligence-Dedication." The organizing committee sets out specific value groups to find the most outstanding representatives.

Miss Vietnam 2024 is a season with a journey spanning many culturally and historically rich locations, from Hanoi to the ancient capital of Hue . “For the first time, the contest will produce a reality TV show, with 12 episodes broadcast on VTV3 throughout the journey. Thus, the contestants will be closely followed by the audience to see the process of honing and maturing during their time participating in the contest. The broadcast episodes will help the contestants demonstrate their depth, dedication and intelligence,” said the Head of the contest's Organizing Committee.

In particular, Misses, Runner-ups, and contestants who win secondary prizes will be chosen as ambassadors in many fields, representing the country and people of Vietnam to participate in promotion throughout their 2-year term.

“In recent competitions, one of the skills that helps beauty queens and runners-up reach the world is communication skills. The reason we chose the Diplomatic Academy as the first location in the Miss Vietnam recruitment program is because the students are trained in a traditional, professional environment, with good foreign language and diplomatic skills,” journalist Phung Cong Suong shared.

Notably, for the contestants who made it to the next rounds, Mr. Phung Cong Suong affirmed that the organizing committee will cover all costs of accommodation, travel and costumes, ensuring fairness and equality for all contestants from the semi-final round to the final.

As a judge at the Diplomatic Academy's entrance exam, actor Phung Duc Hieu said he has been following Miss Vietnam for a long time and commented: "The contest always honors the beauty of Vietnamese women, both in appearance and intelligence. Not only is it a beauty pageant, Miss Vietnam always cares about charity programs. That makes the contest even more meaningful."

The spread Miss's property is the greatest asset

At the time Do Thi Ha participated in Miss Vietnam 2020, there were no large-scale recruitment sessions at universities. The beauty recalled: “I submitted my application to the Miss Vietnam 2020 organizing committee 3 days before the Northern preliminary round. At that time, I was still wondering if submitting my application was the right thing to do. Because the candidates' profiles posted online were both beautiful and talented, which made me feel self-conscious. At that time, I thought I was just okay, but only when I was crowned did I realize how beautiful I was.”

For Do Thi Ha, that contest was a valuable first experience in her life, an event for her to write in her beautiful youth diary. She affirmed that this journey had love but also had difficulties, hardships and tears. “Miss Vietnam was not the journey that changed my life, but after winning the title, I had more opportunities to travel to more places and meet many outstanding people. I realized that when you understand yourself, you will have ways to make yourself more beautiful,” Do Thi Ha said.

The beauty affirmed: “The greatest asset of a beauty queen is not money but influence. Many charity programs that I called for received strong support from donors.”

Sharing her experience with the contestants, Do Thi Ha said that the closed interview was the most stressful part of the competition for her and the secret to passing this round was to confidently express herself. “The closed interview is an opportunity for the judges to understand the contestants better, and it is also an opportunity for the contestants to express themselves. To pass this round, you need to show your own personality,” Do Thi Ha emphasized.

As the only beauty queen participating in the World Youth Festival in 2024, Do Thi Ha continuously wears ao dai with the desire to promote traditional costumes and Vietnamese culture at the big event.

At the recruitment day, Do Thi Ha also revealed the reason why she hid her decision to compete in the beauty pageant from her parents. This stemmed from the fear of speaking too soon and the feeling of shame if she did not achieve any results for the Thanh beauty.

The atmosphere of the admission session became more exciting and attractive with the catwalk competition for students, under the guidance and scoring of Miss Do Thi Ha.
