The document sent to the Ministries: Public Security; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Foreign Affairs ; Finance; Justice and the People's Committees of the provinces and cities: Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hoa Binh clearly stated: Considering the proposal of the Ministry of Public Security in Document No. 1222/BCA-X03-P1 dated April 2, 2025 on the policy of the Ministry of Public Security hosting the 2029 World Police and Firefighting Games in Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh has the following comments:
Agree in principle to host the 2029 World Police and Fire Games in Vietnam. Assign the Ministry of Public Security to preside over and coordinate with the Vietnam People's Police Sports Association and relevant ministries, agencies, organizations and localities to develop, complete and submit the hosting dossier in accordance with the regulations of international sports organizations and Vietnamese law.
The Ministries of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Foreign Affairs; Finance; Justice and relevant ministries, agencies, organizations and localities closely coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security in the process of hosting and preparing for and organizing the Congress (if selected to host); The Hanoi People's Committee urgently sends a document to the Ministry of Public Security to complete the dossier for hosting the Congress in accordance with the spirit of Document No. 3156/VPCP-KGVX dated April 14, 2025 of the Government Office.
In case of being selected as host, the Ministry of Public Security shall preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies, organizations and localities to promptly develop a specific project on organizing the Congress and promptly report to the Prime Minister according to regulations.

Previously, in Document No. 1347/BCA-X03-P1 dated April 10, 2025 sent to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to seek opinions on hosting the 2029 World Police and Fire Fighting Games (WPFG 2029) in Vietnam, the Ministry of Public Security stated: Implementing Conclusion No. 70-KL/TW of the Politburo and the Strategy for developing physical training and sports in Vietnam to 2030, with a vision to 2045 approved by the Prime Minister, the Vietnam People's Public Security's hosting of WPFG 2029 in Vietnam is a particularly important political and sports event, demonstrating the spirit of integration and proactively hosting major international sports events of the People's Public Security, in line with the trend of strengthening foreign affairs and international cooperation in the field of sports.

This is a great opportunity for the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces to exchange, learn, share experiences, promote comprehensive cooperation with law enforcement forces of other countries; promote and enhance the image of the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces to the world's Public Security, Police, and Firefighting forces, contributing to protecting a peaceful life and maintaining sustainable peace for humanity.
At the same time, introduce and promote the image, culture, hospitality and tourism potential of Vietnam to international friends, contributing to bringing the country firmly into a new era of development, an era of national growth (the event attracts about 20,000 athletes, families and accompanying people to the host city for at least a week).
"The successful hosting of WPFG 2029 not only affirms the position of Vietnam in general and Vietnamese sports in particular, but also shows the international trust in the ability of Vietnamese sports to organize major events," the Ministry of Public Security stated.
