As one of the artists performing in the program celebrating the 30/4 National Day, Hoang Bach brought with him many special emotions. The male singer recently shared with VTC News reporters about this performance that he devoted all his heart to.

Singer Hoang Bach.
- What song will you perform at the "Unified Spring" program on the evening of April 29, and how do you feel right now?
I will perform a song called Words of the Heart of Vietnam . This is the third time I have performed this song, and all three times were in very special locations, associated with emotions in each historical period of the country. The first time was at My Dinh Stadium, the second time was near Tan Trao - Tuyen Quang , and this time is Ho Chi Minh City - where I live and am directly involved in the historic event of April 30.
I feel so lucky that the song Loi Trai Tim Viet Nam , although it is new, has been welcomed and requested to perform at this special event. Happiness and excitement are my feelings right now.
- What inspired you to write this song?
This project is an inner urge of a Vietnamese person. I think anyone, anywhere, as long as they have a Vietnamese heart within them, at some point will feel such urges.
In particular, this year is a year in which our country has many important anniversaries, in the context of many major changes in many aspects, so my team and I sat down together from the beginning of 2024 to discuss a major project for the country. Words of the Vietnamese Heart is the first product in the project of the same name launched in this historic April.
- This song does not have the heroic tone often found in songs about the homeland?
There are many ways to tell a story about the country. With Words from the Heart of Vietnam , I chose the way I wanted the most during this period. I used to ask myself, what is the Fatherland, what is the Motherland and searched for the answer ever since I began to be aware of those things. At one point, I understood that the answer is not far away, but should start with the simplest, most peaceful and pure things that I love the most.
I found the first melody one morning when I woke up, saw my little son's smile and his clear eyes on the way to school. And then, bigger and greater things continued to come to me to complete this song. For me, this is a relatively complete song to depict my feelings and gratitude for the two words Vietnam.
Of course, I understand what our people have gone through to achieve the current peace, and heroism is the first thing that everyone sees when thinking about the two words Vietnam. But from my perspective at this time, I love, cherish, and am truly grateful to live in a period of peace and development of the country. That is the reason I chose to put the issue gently and deeply for Words of the Heart of Vietnam.
Hoang Bach will perform the song "Words of the Vietnamese Heart" in the program "Spring of Reunification" on the evening of April 29.
- Besides "Vietnamese Heart Words", what other songs about the country do you cherish on this occasion?
I have two more songs, Welcome to Vietnam and Vietnamese Smile. I want to introduce Vietnam from many perspectives. In terms of meaning, first is from the deep things inside each person, the heart, the nation. Next is about what we often see in Vietnamese people when we meet each other, to me, the most obvious is the smile, Vietnamese people are very happy and humorous.
With Welcome to Vietnam, I want to tell about a modern and dynamic country. I can’t say too much about the remaining songs yet, I can only reveal that the musical and visual materials of all 3 songs are very different, but also very “Hoang Bach” of the present.
- Looking at recent compositions, it seems that Hoang Bach is no longer "following the market". Can you share your opinion on this?
I think the market has many segments. I am doing what I do best and like best, and I am also lucky to have many good partners by my side to turn my ideas and desires into products close to the market. As for perseverance, as I shared, I am in my third creative phase with music, very enthusiastic about exploring my next destinations to see what more I can do, how far I can go. That is why I call myself Bach20.
- What does this change in music mark in your artistic journey?
I think it is a process of growing up and "transforming" myself. I used to think I would no longer be able to be creative, that was about 7-8 years ago, when singing or writing about love - a familiar topic. I felt awkward and "bored" with myself. That created a lot of pressure and negative thoughts for me.
However, after going through that difficult period, I found myself full of energy when living truthfully with my current emotions and experiences. I understand that creativity is a continuous process, and the topics for creativity are vast, we just need to calm down, accept change and believe in our own feelings.

Hoang Bach and his wife are happy because what they incorporate into the process of teaching their children has awakened many invisible values about love for family, love for homeland and country in their children.
- As you shared, there were difficult times and negative periods. How did you overcome those times?
My family is always by my side, especially my wife. We have been together for nearly 20 years of marriage, plus 3 years of knowing each other before that, she has experienced all the ups and downs of my career, from when I was still singing in a group, to the uncertain stages when I started solo, then started to have my own successes, all the struggles, ups and downs, my wife is the only person I share everything with, but before, we only supported each other when necessary.
In recent years, I have proactively asked my wife to participate more deeply in the organization and management of the company so that I have the opportunity to focus on creativity.
It can be said that this project is the first “sweet fruit” after many years of me being able to devote myself to art. Although she does not want to be mentioned much in my musical work, it must be noted that, without her unconditional support, I would not be able to complete my work as firmly as I am now.
- As someone who has many songs about the country and is active in community activities, do you share with your children about values and love for the Fatherland?
I often teach my children through trips, through which I let them see the beauty of the country, of nature and of the Vietnamese people. I do not force them, but share about the history of the country, of the world and freely debate with them about issues that interest them.
My eldest son, Te Giac, is about to turn 18 and plans to study abroad after graduating from high school. What makes me happy is that during the recent Tet holiday, he proactively told his family that his plan after finishing his studies abroad is to return to build the country.
Of course, the children's lives have changed, and my mother and I do not intend to force them, but we are happy because what we have incorporated into the process of teaching our children has awakened many invisible values about love for family, love for homeland, and country in them. The biggest thing I always tell my children is that no matter what they do or where they are, they must always remember that they are Vietnamese.
Thank you!
