Thanh Tin commune is considered the vegetable granary of Hoang Su Phi district in recent years. Since August every year, the commune has mobilized people to prepare well the conditions for winter vegetable production and proactively plant intercrops to meet market demand. Every year, the commune maintains over 20 hectares of winter vegetables, mainly concentrated in Ngai Thau village. According to statistics, the average income of households is about 15 - 20 million VND/household/crop, much higher than some traditional crops. In particular, the commune Women's Union also mobilizes members to establish a clean vegetable growing association to supply schools in the area. The commune Party Committee and government are actively mobilizing people to promote clean and safe production, while expanding the area in places with suitable climate and soil, aiming to form a specialized vegetable production area, contributing to increasing income and improving people's lives.
Leaving Thanh Tin, going up to Chien Pho commune, also has a cool climate with high humidity, suitable for growing vegetables. In particular, Nhiu Sang village is the village with the most households growing winter crops in the commune, with a total area of over 12 hectares. People mainly grow intercrop vegetables such as: Cabbage, Chinese cabbage, Kohlrabi, Cove beans, and radishes. In particular, the commune has guided people to experiment with growing potatoes on fields with suitable conditions. Mr. Sung Mi Dung, Nhiu Sang village shared: Right from the beginning of the season, the commune officials guided us to plow and make beds to prepare for growing winter vegetables. This year, in addition to traditional vegetable varieties, households have boldly experimented with growing potatoes. Currently, the plants are growing and developing well. Growing winter crops brings in a good income for families, so more and more households in the village are participating in production, becoming a vibrant emulation movement, contributing significantly to increasing income and reducing poverty.

Some localities have large winter crop areas such as: Thang Tin, Ban Luoc, Tu Nhan... Thanks to strict compliance with the time frame and care process, the entire winter crop area has grown and developed well. Some short-term vegetable crops have been harvested. In order for the winter crop to bring high economic efficiency, Hoang Su Phi district has directed the district's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes and towns to strengthen propaganda and mobilize people not to abandon their fields, ensuring that the entire area is planted according to the set plan; increase the search for contacts to link up product consumption for people; guide people to plant varieties of plants with high economic value, especially vegetables and beans of all kinds.
