Since the beginning of May, Vietnam tourism has entered a vibrant peak period with impressive growth rates. According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in May 2025 alone, the country welcomed more than 15.5 million visitors, including more than 1.5 million international visitors (up 10.5% over the same period), and about 14 million domestic visitors with 9 million overnight stays at accommodation establishments.
Beach destinations, islands and tourist centers recorded an increase in the number of visitors - not only because of the usual peak season, but also because a vibrant summer is inspiring tourists to travel, thanks to the explosion of a series of attractive shows such as: Fireworks, festival experiences with large-scale and methodical investment.
The boom in tourism right from the beginning of summer 2025 is not just a short-term positive signal. It is the result of a fully-experienced ecosystem that is professionally organized. Fireworks are no longer a “privilege” of New Year’s Eve, but have become the new language of summer.

And behind every fireworks display, festival, or brilliant show, is a destination development strategy based on cultural values. In Da Nang, the international fireworks festival (DIFF 2025) becomes the highlight of the summer. The average hotel room occupancy rate in the city during this time is up to 80%.
According to statistics from the Agoda platform, Da Nang leads the country in the number of hotel booking searches during the DIFF period from May 31 to July 31, surpassing Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc. However, fireworks are just the starting point. Da Nang has planned a whole "summer festival ecosystem" with a new art show on top of Ba Na, the 2025 Da Nang Asian Film Festival, the 2025 Da Nang Enjoy Festival, the Vietnam - UK Football Exchange, the Dubai - Bangkok - Da Nang flight route program... taking place simultaneously.

In Cat Ba, the first days of June have witnessed a clear increase in the number of visitors. The piers, hotels, and coastal resorts are all crowded - especially on weekends. The obvious change is that the space here no longer revolves around tours to explore the bay but has expanded to a series of night experiences: the "Green Island Symphony" show - a sports and art performance, fireworks at sea that set 2 world records, followed by the Vui-fest night market experience, water music and a new coastal restaurant cluster.
Although still far from the target of welcoming 4 million visitors per year, the positive movements since the beginning of summer show that Cat Ba has succeeded in “renewing” itself. The festival space creates a new rhythm for the island, making tourists want to come back to explore and spend more.
Mr. Thanh Hai, a tourist from Hai Phong, shared: “My family has been to Cat Ba many times but has never seen the center of the island as brilliant as this. Now, without having to go far, locals and tourists can still watch fireworks every night, it is worth the experience.”
In the North, Ha Nam is also becoming a "fireworks rookie" when from now until the end of August, every Friday and Saturday night, the sky at Sun Urban City Festival Park Square is continuously lit up by fireworks.

Located just over an hour away from Hanoi, the series of fireworks displays combined with large-scale water music shows and exciting activities, the bustling Vui-fest night market, makes Ha Nam emerge as an ideal weekend destination for people in the capital and surrounding areas.
On weekends, the number of visitors watching fireworks at Festival Park Square reaches tens of thousands each night. This is a welcome sign for a destination that has previously been known only for spiritual tourism.
In the South, Phu Quoc continues to maintain its position as a center for resort tourism and entertainment. Every night, in the Sunset Town area, the Kiss of the Sea light, fire and water art show has become an indispensable part of the journey of tourists experiencing the pearl island.
It is no coincidence that the above destinations are all “lit up” at night. Because fireworks are not only a visual product, but also a way to stimulate night tourism. The fact that visitors come early, stay long, and spend a lot is the result of destinations no longer waiting for “visitors to come”, but proactively creating reasons for visitors to go – and stay.

Fireworks experiences are taken as the focal point to build extended experiences: from night markets, culinary spaces, shows, to transportation and connecting infrastructure. The tourism structure is gradually reshaping towards a comprehensive experience space, extending the length of stay and expanding the consumption margin.
Travel inspiration is also driven by an ever-exciting catalyst: the lights of fireworks and the fascinating transformation of cultural experiences.
